Really? He's essentially Parsons coming out of college, except stronger, more athletic, and a better scorer.

I wish you'd at least read up on him.... It's kinda embarrassing.

    Haven't read the thread.

But does anyone think deep down drafting Dekker is a subtle shot at Parsons.

'you can easily be replaced' kind of thing.

Contrary to what a lot of people on this board think...I really do like Dekker.

That being said, two players drafted after him in the first round have been really terrific when given a chance:
    A. Bobby Portis: 6'11'' stud. When injuries came up, this kid came in a did some damage.

    B. Larry Nance Jr. - A 4 year college athlete that has springs like Griffin..And can rebound and dunk. He will have a productive NBA career.

The verdict will still be out on Dekker and it is disappointing that he hasnt had much time to show what he can do. But I believe in this pick...

I like Dekker and hope we get to see him in action during the Summer League. He was a very efficient 2nd scoring option on a very good Wisconsin team. Obviously it's hard not to compare him to Parsons for multiple reasons.

    1. Dekker is more athletic and stronger (has more weight/muscle) than Parsons coming out of college, but they have very similar measurements.

    2. Dekker was a very efficient scorer in college and scored in the ways that Morey likes (very good in the paint and slashing).

    3. Parson was a better playmaker and assisted on like 25% of the buckets in his senior year, pretty astounding for a 6'9 SF. Dekker didn't move the ball nearly as well.

Sam Dekker makes Omri Casspi look like Usain Bolt.
