    There's a film/membrane kind of thing on the outside of the shell that serves as a natural germ barrier, do not wash your eggs until you're ready to cook them.

    Unless you're washing eggs with soap, you're not going to do anything to salmonella by washing it.

    I buy HEB's AA extra large eggs. Brown or white doesn't matter, it's merely the species of the chicken. White eggs crack much easier, so I prefer them instead of the more difficult brown eggs that will leave tiny egg shell fragments in your eggs.
