    If a group of top-flight comedians combined all their talents to create a scathing satire of the brainless, jingoistic crap peddled to conservatives, they could not possibly surpass this vacuous abomination.

    It's as if a group of subversive artist-ninjas infiltrated the conservative infrastructure to ridicule them to their own faces, as Colbert did to Bush back in the day. Not even the Colbert team at the height of their prowess could have dreamed something so beautifully awful.

    It's like a metaphor for the Trump campaign itself: a endless run-on sentence of platitudes, an empty vessel inviting dispirited conservatives to pour their hopes and dreams into it.
