It's a relative complaint with regards to Harden. He's still very good offensively, but he has been worse than last year (significantly so IMO). Offensive Real-Plus minus: Last year- 8.66 (1st in the league) This year- 6.84 (third in the league) His ORtg (112) and TS% (.579) are his worst since his rookie year. The ORtg is a rather large drop, last two years he was 118 and 120. This year's numbers aren't bad in a vacuum, but the dropoff at least explains some of the team struggles. The problem is magnified in that there is less movement on the offensive end, perhaps this is a cause or a result of Harden's struggles.

This was a good thread. We're actually digging into the numbers instead of just ranting about who should be fired or traded or benched.
Petition the league to have 20 timeouts per half so we can sub Harden out on defensive possessions and put him back in on offense.
I believe that is at least partially a result of his not finding his shot. It went the same way last year. He seems to start off slow. Nevertheless, Harden is NOT ruining the offense, as ppl like to say. He IS the offense.
Yeh, sorry we couldn't get you the assist, James... maybe if you hadn't dribbled away 22 seconds before passing it to a tightly guarded teammate.... but hey, at least the missed shot doesnt count against your stats, right...
Um no - Dmo is a terrible rebounder. Rebounding is the one thing that doesn't require experience or adjustment.
LOL!!! Ok tough guy.... I didn't know you were the all mighty GOD of this thread.... Please feel free to kick me out... O yeah right... you're not an admin.... T_Man
I quoted my sig from the Freak a couple of years ago and those words still stay strong today.. And that same statement goes for the offensive side... Last year these guys were able to win with multiple guys being out at different times... But the difference is they played as a team... This year they seem to have their own agenda... T_Man
Here is last year Same format for this year If too blurry, the data is at vorped. A thing that stands out is that he is on track to shoot less at the rim than he did last year. Also, his most common shot location is at the rim on the left side, and he hit 58% last year vs 52% this year. But he is shooting better from the right (but still taking much fewer shots there).
Howard is/isn't a turnover prone... When gets the ball close to the basket, he can be very efficient. Remember the game against L.A Clipper? When he gets the ball far away from the basket, he turns it over on a VERY high rate... So the team needs to figure out how to feed the ball when Howard is deep in the paint. Howard (and the team) also needs to figure out how to handle the ball when he is not close to the basket (learn something from T.Duncan?). Without either of these being done, team is afraid of passing him the ball, and he only gets shots through P&R and offensive rebound. That's about 4~5 shots a game?
Last 3 games DMo basically didn't play. Rockets were outrebounded in all 3 games anyway. Explain this DMo can't rebound theorists. Why Rockets got less rebounds in their last 3 games?
