Jeff Adrien arrested for grand theft auto

It wasn't a Ferrari, but a former NBA player was reportedly arrested in Los Angeles after taking someone's new car on a six-hour joyride, "Ferris Bueller" style.

Jeff Adrien, who spent five seasons in the NBA and last year played with the Timberwolves, was outside the West Hollywood hotel where he was staying last week when he spotted a valet parking attendant with a Mercedes, according to TMZ Sports.

The 29-year-old was able to get the keys to the car and rode off before eventually returning the Mercedes to the hotel, the report said.

The owner reportedly found out, noticed there was damage to the vehicle and that it smelled like mar1juana, and got the Los Angeles Police Department involved.

Adrien was later arrested for grand theft auto and taken to jail, according to TMZ Sports, before being released on $25,000 bail.
