I heard you the first time, Jack. And don't tell me not to get angry about it. Just because it didn't end up playing out doesn't mean I wasn't being honest. If you'll remember, I took a ton of $hit, over The Long Hot Summer.... and for the most part chilled out...took it. No more.
Brother, I don't blame you for bringing info. I truly do appreciate it. But like it or not, this is a "what have you done for me lately" society (it always has been). So you can't be surprised by the response. And your starting PG thread (which I agree with, Ty will start) just adds more gas to the fire. Why don't you just give your thoughts in the OP?!
Christ, the least you could do is make another account instead of dragging along your current one with all the ridiculous fake insider stupidity it's bagged with.
Look sonny, I'd wager I've had this account almost as long as you've been alive. Your comment on the previous thread about me having some audacity for coming back joined with this is way out of line. This place is home...part of many components that have made up my life. Apparently, this is just to damn much for you to grasp. I've been here for a long time (with a long posting history) and if you think I'm just going to make something up all of a sudden....It's nuts...It's NOT congruent with my history. Use your head.
22/1. Are those Vegas odds? Wow. I don't know squat about betting. Are those odds set at the casino or are those odds set by people's overall betting. Say the more they bet on the Spurs the better their odds. Like 5/7 while pushing us to 23/1. Either way I look forward to this season.. Light some candles. Ring some silver bells and sprinkle them with holy water. Whatever it takes to maintain good health. Given tmac and Yao the rockets have EARNED a spectacular health year. We are due for good breaks in that area.
Anyways....back on topic. WAAAAY ahead of the op... http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showpost.php?p=10045488&postcount=337
Yea, you and I have some dough on this season. Looks like we both went in on 18/1 odds though, where is 22/1 coming from? Have the odds really changed that much?
Dunno. But I'm not in Vegas so I can't see for myself the lines set. My bet came from....elsewhere.
22/1 odds?!?!?! Why, that sounds like a 5-course meal! #it'sgoindown #soon You'll have to come back later and let us know how much money you put down.
I like the odds at 22/1... But Plowman, if you think we're such a better team than the competition...do you predict 70 wins with a relatively healthy year?
My personal opinion, I feel a "healthy" number of games to win in the long grinding regular season this year would be around 58-60 wins..max. I think the Rockets are very talented and have proven quite a bit last year and enough to build on for this year. But I just don't want them straining to win 67 or even 70 games. That's just too much effort and exertion. 58-60 wins would give them a very solid seeding (I'm assuming) and give them enough "gas" in the tank to make a very deep (finals) post-season run. Just my 2 cents...
I like the odds. Having said that I still think it's funny that the Clippers are, "a joke". I don't THINK they will be better than us, but it wouldn't shock me and I don't think people with that opinion are stupid
I like those odds. If I had any extra money laying around, I'd make that bet. All these other teams have good chances too, but our team feels a little different. San Antonio is getting really really old. Players at that age, historically, have not faired well. They're not defying father time. No one does. The Clippers are good, slightly improved, and hungry, but I personally think they have too much personal interest on one team to play as a unit. They're every bit as talented as us, but we play like a team. It's why we won 3 straight. The Warriors have a target on their back, it makes things tougher. Everyone will give them their best and it will wear them down some. That only helps us. The Thunder are great, but Durant leaving will be on minds far more than winning. The distraction helps the rest of the league. Odds are what they are, a gamble, but ours looks great to me.
