The Angels essentially got a 15 million dollar pitcher and a 15 million dollar hitter for about a million bucks including his signing bonus. I would be more excited about him, if he was playing in our division.
If he continues to be a superstar pitcher and hitter do they let him do both or switch him to be a hitter or pitcher only?
If you had to choose one, I think he'd be a better pitcher. This mf was painting the corners with 100 mph cheddar in the 7th inning.
I don't think they have a choice since one of the reasons he signed with LA was that he could be play DH. If they don't let him do both, he will bolt at the first opportunity.
Why can’t he do both? Hitting and running the bases isn’t too physical demanding. He’ll only pitch one out of 5 games so he should be good. Dude has been incredible so far though. Sucks they’re in the same division as us.
So... Miami and Miami-Dade County feel that they are owed money stemming from the sale of the Marlins. The Marlins are trying to circumvent paying the city and county... by claiming corporate citizenship in the British Virgin Islands. Marlins Man went to one of the addresses of the holding corporations in the Virgin Islands... and found PO boxes.
I can't imagine the mix of emotions Marlins Fan has gone through in the past year or so: Woohooo! Loria and Samson (2 of the most sleazy execs in sports history) are out! Jeter! Jeter's coming! Wait, so we're trading *all of them*? Now this.
That's nice! I was pretty surprised when he lasted as long in the draft as he did, I know he had injury concerns, but still.
Update on Danny Farquhar, who is still in the fight of his life after collapsing in the dugout over the weekend:
