Gexa Energy??

I'm moving in 2 weeks and signed a 12 month guaranteed rate contract for 10.9 cents per kw/h with them. Are they a good company? Is there anything I should be worried about?

They gave me free electricity for over a year. I liked that.

I signed it at 12.22 a month or so ago. You got a good deal. I've had no problems with them and have actually persuaded others to go with them as well.

What kind of bill should i expect for an apartment with an 8-10 yr old AC and 643 sq ft.??

Upstairs with raised ceilings or down stairs?

I live upstairs in a condo complex with raised ceilings and my winter bills run between $55 and $80, summer $130 to $160. My last bill, running the AC A LOT was $143.00 for May/June. Gotta take into account all the taxes and whatnot. I'm a little over 1100 square feet though.

Jeremias Sequeira is a customer who just received a worrisome letter from the company. "The reason I chose Gexa is because it was supposed to be environmentally friendly," said Sequeira. Now Sequeira is wondering if he made the right choice. According to the letter, his personal information, along with that of other customers, may have been compromised. The letter said the security breach happened April 30, 2008 -- nearly a year ago. "I couldn't believe the information didn't get to me until a year after," Sequeira said. Sequeira said Gexa gave the thieves a year to do whatever they wanted. The thieves potentially have his name, birth date, Social Security number, driver's license number and his passport number. "It could have been used for so many reasons," said Sequeira. "I don't check my credit report every day, so how would I know?" A Gexa representative said it didn't let people know sooner because "law enforcement authorities directed Gexa Energy to withhold notice regarding this incident until now, pending their investigation." "Even if the FBI and Secret Service (are involved), they should first tell all customers, 'listen, your information may be out there and you need to do something about it," said Sequeira. "Gexa Energy takes the protection of individual personal information very seriously," the representative said. "We deeply regret any concern this incident may have caused." The company said so far there's no evidence of any improper use of the information. "The breach was contained, the equipment used in this incident was seized and the individual responsible is pending indictment," the Gexa representative said. "That's why they said the information could be released now." Gexa said all customers affected would be getting a letter. The last of the letters should be sent out by the end of this week.
