My thinking is that this guy can be a bit more of a 4 than Battier can. I also think that Battier doesn't have a place on this team. I was against bringing him here in the first place but was willing to go along with it as long as we won NOW. That didn't happen, so now I think it's time to cut our losses.

Especially with Bonzi and Head on the roster (both 2's who would allow T-Mac to slide over to the 3) and Snyder/Reed as insurance, Battier is the best piece to use to shore up our PF spot.

Personally I'm more comfortable with Wallace at PF in Adelman's system than Battier. A 3-pt shooting PF is a luxury, but Wallace can pick up 2 blocks, 2 steals and 7-8 rebounds at PF. In reality, Wallace is every bit the rebounder Juwan Howard was (probably better), ten times the defender, 50 times the athlete, and a much better garbage points player than Juwan who's jumper has failed him the last two seasons.

Sure, I'd rather have a quick 6'10 guy play OF for us, but right now, having Gerald Wallace and Chuck Hayes logging minutes at the 4 gives me hope that an MLE big man signing will cover us at the 4/5.

Battier's got to go IMO. He's a very good player, but we have more important needs at the 4 than we do at the 2/3, and Battier will fetch the most value. I would absolutely love to get Nene off the Nuggets even though he's slightly overpaid. He's efficient, young and will certainly have a better season than his last considering the surgery he had.

Hell, at this point, I'm thinking taking a gigantic risk on Kenoyon Martin is looking good. We need to improve our PF spot by reducing the logjam at the 2/3.

Pshhh. I would do Head, Battier, and 26 for Wallace and a throw in.

I like Gerald Wallace's game that much.
