    A lot of good Indian music is r&bish.. In other words, they're love songs.

    Atif Aslam has a lot of good songs.. He's technically Pakistani.

    If you really want to understand Indian music you should study raga. There are many ancient rythmic modes that came from India and have a very strong significance culturally, intellectually and spiritually. Id start with someone like Zakir Hussain.
