Computer Question...

Same here...although I eventually switched over to Ubuntu, which seemed to give me a performance boost. I keep searching for an excuse to upgrade my laptop, but for web browsing, word processing, minor programming, etc., it performs just fine IMO.

 

Um, no. It's NOT VISTA. It's some other CRAP.

I have to admit I'm kinda warming to Vista. It spends an obscene amount of system resources looking pretty, but since I'm running an i7 processor and a pretty decent graphics card, I really don't care.

Though, I no longer have a need for a laptop, so this puppy is a desktop. I have to imagine you'd have to pay a lot more than the $1200 I paid for the laptop equivalent.

 

Yeah, I never really had any problems with Vista either (running on my desktop of course, not my laptop). I usually use Ubuntu 95% of the time on it too, but not really due to any performance issues or anything. A few things I needed to adjust too, but once I did, I preferred it over XP for the most part.
