For some reason I never gave Arcade Fire a listen even after people told me their ACL concert was amazing. The Suburbs is pretty damn good. Wish I had listened to it earlier.

Is that the same sound Dave Matthews made when his bus dropped a deuce on an unsuspecting tourist boat? :p

Giving that grammy to the Arcade Fire was a desperate attempt by the Music Industry Dinosaur to be 'relevant.'

For his contributions to Dark Side of the Moon alone, Alan Parsons blows these poseurs away. And this is the song of the year????

The Grammys have a terrible track record, even going back to the 70s:

These were some of the Records of the Year Grammy Winners:

Olivia Newton-John: I Honestly Love You
    The 5th Dimension: Aquarius
Roberta Flack: Killing Me Softly With His Song
Captain & Tennille: Love Will Keep Us Together
Roberta Flack: The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face
Billy Joel: Just The Way You Are
    The Eagles: Hotel California
Simon & Garfunkel: Bridge Over Troubled Water

Except for the Eagles and S&G (both well-deserved), the rest is....well, let's just say these songs won Grammys in an era that produced Stairway to Heaven, Let It Be, Won't Get Fooled Again, More Than A Feeling, Carry On Wayward Son, Let's Get It On, Superstition, Money, Don't Fear The Reaper, Love Train, Born To Run, Surrender, and Brown Sugar. Sad.

Nobody? I'm pretty sure Arcade Fire had gone mainstream after Where The Wild Things Are.
