When's the last time a Texan team received this much coverage & attention? Even SA despite all their continuous success go largely unnoticed by the NBA world until deep into the postseason.

Even their road games have been packed recently with Playoff atmosphere in the building. Fans either booing the **** out of Harden or wildly cheering for him like it's a home game.

If you think this is a lot of coverage, it's nothing compared to next season if LeBron comes here.

Legler was born too early but he would not have been able to hit 50 percent in a high volume environment. He only took wide open looks when he was an NBA.

The GARM would be essentially unreadable until he leaves.

And he only did that when the league shortened the 3-pt line in the mid-90s.

Plus, the media guys like this still are missing a key difference. They all agree that the league didn't emphasize the 3 back then,,,well, the point they miss is--for that very reason--the league also didn't emphasize the increasing role of 3&D players -- which would stop Legler's open looks from shorter 3s, nowadays. there really wasn't a notion of 3&D players back then when the lowpost and midrange was so emphasized.

The 3 has allowed more and more long, athletic defenders who can't dribble or pass well to carve key roles in the league.

Nowadays, defenses are not only designed to stop the 3, but the league and college has been drafting/recruiting and developing long, athletic wing players to shoot threes, to keep them on the court longer,,,so the NBA has loaded up on 3&D players like never before.

For me, it's already been that way for 10+ years.

I think it would force the mods to restrict who could start new threads, how often, etc or the GARM would become a nuclear waste dump because newbies and non-Rockets fans would flood this place like never before.

    Exactly.

It is a very simplistic view to say that someone who shot a high % on a low number of attempts would be devastating in the current environment of the NBA. Even then, look at someone like George Hill that shoots 43-45% on 3's; but only takes 2-3 a game because he won't take one unless he is set and completely open.

Players that would likely thrive in the current NBA environment are guys like Horry, Marion and Tom Chambers..... all were athletic, long and capable of guarding the 3 point line and it is likely that all would be far better three point shooters with the increased emphasis on the shot.

"Name the starting center(s) for the Rockets each year for the last 7 years."

Put a timer on it so you can't google it.

Man, I think there was a Jordan Hill and an Omer sprinkled in there somewhere.. Maybe the question is too hard. I would fail to gain access.
