This article showed up in my Twitter feed today. It was so bad I couldn't even justify wasting my time signing up to comment. His first reason is that the Rangers have superior Starting pitching. Let me say that again broken down so it can sink in.

    The Rangers
    have superior
    starting pitching
    .

In his discussion of that he completely forgets to even acknowledge that Colin McHugh is on the team.

I stopped reading here so I have no idea if his other 2 points are worth anything, but my guess from reading the headings is that they aren't. We are apparently lacking in playoff experience and the remaining schedule is apparently worse for the Astros but should even out since the Astros are better against the division than Texas.

    Lol right

And the guy says the Rangers have the second best LHP in baseball behind only Kershaw. There isn't a team anywhere, including the rangers themselves, that would rather have Hamels than Dallas Keuchel.

I think the guy knows the Rangers but he has no clue about the Astros.

The Rangers do have a very good rotation, and next year with Darvish is very strong but this year:

    1. Hamels (good number 1)
    2. Gallardo (very good number 2)
    3. Holland very good number 3
    4. Lewis very good number 4, but last 2 starts very bad, he is old and maybe has no more gas in the tank this year, at the beginning he was number 2 in rotation and had to pitch a lot
    5. Martin Perez, this guy IS NOT GOOD.

What makes our team much better, or starting rotation is our number 4 and 5 guys, THAT IS THE DIFFERENCE.

Hamels vs K, i have to give it to K as he is Cy Young pitcher, but Hamels is also very good.
Gallardo vs Kamir i have to give the advantage to Gallardo because Kazmir has struggle a little with us, but for the whole year, Kazmir
Holland vs McCullers, advantage McCullers as Holland has pitched little, but again, Holland is also very good, is a nice matchup.

Now, there is a REAL ADVANTAGE when you go Lewis/Perez vs Fiers/ McHugh

Lewis is pitching like a good number 4 and Perez as a bad number 5 while Fiers and McHugh are pitching like really good number 3's.

So, the guy that posted the article is right to say Rangers have a good rotation, but ours is much better thanks to McHugh and Fiers.

If the guy did not even mentioned McHugh he is lost.

    You should have kept reading.

"Astros will play two less games down the stretch, but they will play 16 of their 25 remaining games on the road. The Texas Rangers will play 17 of their 27 remaining games at home. "

Guy may want to check his math on that big home vs. road advantage he's using as one of his 3 reasons.

He's a student at UH but is a fan of Dallas' sports. He also looks like he's 16.

Fiers & McCullers are inconsistent, but ignore the fact that the Rangers staff is inconsistent.

I'm more concerned about our play on the road than the other two contenders. We control our destiny is we can win a couple series on the road.

The Angels are 5.5 back compared to the Rangers 3 games back. I'm not going to count the Angels out, but the Rangers are definitely concerning.

The Angels will face Grienke, Kershaw, Keuchel, McCullers, Fiers, Felix, & Iwakuma in their next 9 games. That is a rough stretch for them.

Stros are better, but I don't exactly trust Kazmir as a good #2.
