Why doesn't Hopkins get as much respect from media than other WRs?

Just thinking out loud. How come Nuke doesn't get the same respect/love from a national standpoint as other WRs?

Something was coming on ESPN talking about Julio and if he deserves to be the highest paid WR.

They mention Antonio Brown and Odell and compare stats and how they're the best in the league at their position and stuff but not a single mention of Hopkins.

Is it just Houston hate? Idk.. just wondering.

I've heard the talking heads talk about Hopkins. Pretty much everyone views him as one of the five best receivers in the game. Frankly, I don't care if they talk about him or not. I don't watch much of that stuff.

It's just because he doesn't run those 4.3-4.4s and isn't flashy. He doesn't get much space and isn't big.

All those other WRs are divas. Maybe Julio isn't but he's big and fast, which people want to see. Hopkins is a good route runner with excellent hands and feet that doesn't like a whole lot of attention. That's what makes him so underrated.

He's a pretty low key guy. Don't think that he wants the attention

He does his job, keeps his mouth shut, and keeps the celebration dances at a minimum.

He's not a diva. Simple as that.

He doesn't throw tantrums on the sidelines, cause any problems in the locker room, or speak out on social media.

    Houston delusional syndrome again.

As someone that doesn't live in Houston, Nuk is considered the best WR in football by pretty much everyone

In a place like Denver where I live, Houston is grouped in with NY, LA, Chicago, Philly, Boston etc as giant media markets nobody shuts up about. The Texans get a ton of national attention.

Because they don't want to accidentally show respect for BoB and the organization .

I have yet to see anything across all of sports media unanimously consider Hopkins the best WR in football. Sure there's a few isolated takes here and there that make a case for him but there's other obvious names that definitely get the attention more often than not.

I definitely don't think this pretty much everyone take is true at all

Every one of those links bring up Hopkins as one of the best WRs in the league. No one talks about the top receivers without mentioning his name. He gets as much respect as the other guys. They don't have him as #1 and maybe he is not #1 (who cares anyway) but they definitely regard him as one of the best.

Yes but the discussion here is the top not if he’s one of the best. Because of course he is

I thought the discussion was about getting the same respect/love as other top WRs.

Ah got it. "The best" anything is usually too subjective anyway. Hard to come to a consensus.

true. and some of it is Hopkins not being that attention grabber who markets himself as that guy like some of the others. Which is fine
