If he is only giving up 10 pts and scoring 18 or 20 that would be alrite to great.

Where does he get the minutes though and taking all those shots while CP3 and Harden lessen theirs?

IMHO EGo was the best at taking 'only' 8-14 shots a game effectively so far.

I would be glad if both CP and CA stay healthy and play their 28-32 mpg no matter the stats right now.

    We'll go from there.

    Actually, it will be...

Harden has better teammates than Westbrook.

Aside the fact that the media dudes would eventually say "he got better because of Paul", Harden would be omitted lol...i think they would say he got better cause playing one year with Westbrook helped him understand what it means to have a winning mentality instead of playing for himself

i think he'll average ~16 and the media whores will just ignore it most of the season, saying just wait he'll crash in the playoffs

There won’t be one because he’s not going to. As much as I love harden and dislike Russ y’all really kind of go overboard acting like harden is Steve Nash out here. He holds on to the ball a lot, which if fine because he throws dimes and we have guys who can pull in a second,

Offense isn’t gonna be the problem with melo and really it wasn’t last year. Most of the media talks more about his defense, which will be an isssue.

I completely understand their skepticism, but clutchfans likes to act like the difference is he playing with cp and James. The difference is he’s a 5th option with us on a minimum contract, not a 3rd option on a max

What will the media narrative be when I reveal that I am Iron Man?

That is an equally valid question.

They will pretend like they knew he would be good all along. That “D’antoni’s system” along with the facilitating of Harden/CP3 would be a great fit for a motivated Melo. Media will also say “if only Westbrook had more help” lol

I was beginning to worry. JB has been getting all the attention for the last week. Way to slow it down and make another melo thread to remind everyone he’s still here. Nicely done.

It's all Billy Donovan's fault. He was never able to get Westbrook some HERRRLLLLP.

Harden makes everybody he plays with better. But he won't get that credit.

It will probably be "The Rockets and their nerds are ruining the game of basketball by taking no midrange shots!"

Harden isn’t Nash, but compared to Westbrook, he’s a literal god.

Russel Westbrook actively makes his team worse, and he will never win a championship, because he isn’t good enough to be a number 1 option, and isn’t smart enough to realize it.

We'll see what happens with Melo. But I could see him averaging somewhere between 10-16ppg on this team. Aside from scoring, the key items that people will be interested in is 1) If Melo comes off the bench that will say to the media that Melo has bought in 2) if Melo is "serviceable" in the defensively switching scheme.

Ultimately though, it is about the Rockets "winning games" that matters aside from the stats.

I’m seeing more like 15 ppg

Melo’s ppg for the past 5 seasons:

    13-14 - 27.4
    14-15 - 24.2
    15-16 - 21.8
    16-17 - 22.4
    17-18 - 16.2
