I got to thinking I'm old, but I can't remember when I was actually excited to see a Tom Cruise movie. There was a time (about a ten year span) when he put out:

    Risky Business
    Legend
    Top Gun
    Color of money
    Rain Man
Born on the Fourth of July
    Days of Thunder
    A Few Good Men

For me, the last good film that I saw him in that he was the star was Vanilla Sky, but even that was as much a Cameron Diaz film.
The last film that I saw at the theater was Knight and Day, yeah that film.

Edge of Tomorrow.......believe it or not, I bought it on Blu Ray, and I've watched it more than once. Really enjoyed this most recent Mission Impossible. I don't expect him to be in any Oscar winners, and I don't think much of Scientology, but the dude has some on screen presence. Can't really think of anything he's been in where I wasn't entertained a bit.

Hmmmm. I haven’t seen the last MI, so I’ll have to go with Minority Report.

I know his best, for me was/is Top Gun.

How does he not even list 1 of the MI movies?

Started a random thread on CF about the guy, but can't be bothered to watch a Tom Cruise movie from 2002 onwards.

Yeah, jumping like a mad-chimp on a couch can do that to a career...

Has there ever been a bigger box office action star at 56 years old?

Fallout was Tom Cruise's last good movie that came out a couple months ago. He might be a nutcase, but he performs well in everything he does, IMO. Even that trash ass Mummy movie I thought he did well.
