I got a letter from the government the other day... I opened and read it, it said they were charging me $5.78 for blowing through a toll lane with no Tag. I never use the toll roads, so this must have been one of those "Where am I going? Aw ****, I'm on the toll road now!!" mistakes that I don't even remember. Question is: What happens if I don't pay this stupid little fine? Because, c'mon, I'd rather not.
If its only one violation, then just call them. You can either pay it out right or buy a 20 dollar prepaid tag and theyll waive that fine away. So youll end up with a tag with $20 worth of credits for toll fees.

From several years ago, my first notice was ~$7.00. Later it became $57.00. Then it was over $300.00.
You'll get fined thousands of dollars in late fees. Doesn't matter if your account says you owe $0.00. They'll tack on more late fees.

A Clear and concise operating charter for Toll Roads with a moral duty clause that makes it illegal to work and establish any Toll Project or operating guidelines that would bring economic harm against a Texas Citizen created by the system itself. 6. The exposure of profits, peoples names and other information by Regional Mobility Authorities. 7. The the abolition of any and all future toll roads. 8. Stop diverting Gas Tax money to other programs. 9. The classification of a "toll" as a "Tax" by admission of the State. 10. The immediate development of a Gas Tax plan to pay for roads and "Sunset" (eliminate" toll roads within 5 years.
Then, eventually a warrant will be issued for your arrest most likely. Doesn't mean they will hunt you down or anything, but if you get pulled over on a traffic stop or something, you're gonna wish you had paid it.
