[Duplicate post; just saw this thread with the more vague title] Yeah Clutchfans has major redirect problems on Android. I suspect that it does on Desktop too, but it's battling ad blocker, because my browser will sometimes slow to a crawl (so much so that I type and wait 5-10 seconds for my characters to appear). Sorry to bother you @Clutch, just tagging in case these screenshots are helpful. Here's the initial one that comes up 75% of the time: Spoiler If you try to "back" from this one, it takes you to this one (and back and forth): Spoiler And I got this one once, as a bonus: Spoiler
Using a Mercury browser on Android with all it's security protections and ad-blocks enabled is the only way I can surf CF.
Now I'm getting sent to the bottom of the page ad on my android. I can't swipe back up. It only stops if I stop the page from losing all the way
If you contribute does it help? I've been getting that one now too... Lose spot where I was, I'd almost prefer to give money or have a pop-up that doesn't move me from where I was (especially on long threads).. Have to scroll up sometimes and hold like you're mentioning.
Contributing gives Clutch more resources to improve the site, but it isn't going to stop these pop-ups. Not directly, at any rate. I've been having the same problem with my iPad and iPhone from time to time, but not with my PC. Go figure.
I just want to note that I’ve started getting the annoying gift card ads, too, on my new iPhone. The ad maliciously redirects my browser to their site when I click on any link at CF.net. It does NOT pop up a 2nd browser tab for me (like most pop-ups); it redirects the tab I’m currently surfing on to the site. Furthermore, it traps me at the ad site, and I’m unable to go back to the CF.net page I was on. I have only seen this happen when I visit Clutchfans.
I also get the CONGRATULATIONS!!! and WARNING!!! redirects and just starting now... I get the detected AdBlocker msg from PC browser. I will whitelist but seems that this just turned on in the last 10-20 minutes or so. @Clutch please confirm.
Just got a redirect that began reading out loud "You should update your browser...." Sucks because my volume was up and ppl in my office could hear it. Pretty embarrassing
This redirecting issue is back lately - mobile Chrome on Android. I've deleted cookies, temp files, etc with no improvement. I'll see if this issue continues on Firefox mobile. Not a huge deal, but just giving a heads up.
