yeah we'll be ok. but ok is another second round exit. good is a WCF appearance. great is a chance at a championship. we used to be great before we started cutting costs. its a small losing streak, not a big deal. but it highlights larger issues. when was the last time we blew a team out like we used to? or like the bucks do every night? when was our last big winning streak? when we were a championship contender we used to have double digit winning streaks multiple times per season. when was the last time you were sure we would win the game instead of worrying that every game is a "trap game?" why do we know when our team will lose? we used to think they had a chance to win every single game, against anyone, on any night, even after a back to back, even short staffed. now there are some games we know will be a loss, and we know there are teams we will struggle against, and they aren't always the best teams. coaching is an issue. depth is an issue. size/athleticism is an issue. defense is an issue. shooting is an issue. yet we're only a few games away from 2nd place. its not time to give up, or blow it up, but it is time for some sort of adjustment.
If the team works for high percentage shots, gets better shooters, or both. Dribbling the cover off the ball and then heaving a 40 foot low percentage shot is not a winning formula. The odds are against you.
You know who is doing ok? Harden and Westbrook. They make like 38 million per year, and each will get a nice raise for the next three years whether the Rockets win or lose. They could miss 500 three pointers in a row and they still get a raise. Those guys are definitely ok.
