Walls don't work. Militarizing the border and shooting possible border jumpers would. Forget what that does to our relationship with Mexico. Forget what that says about our humanity.

In a similar situation? Absolutely. If a large mob was demanding that you give them your property and are attacking you with rocks, you shoot them as soon as they break through your fence onto your property. As an aside, when you shoot, you ALWAYS shoot to kill, shooting to wound or shooting to maim is nonsense.

Curious... a wall won't have a significant impact on heroin being smuggled into the US. Unless you intended to put the walls around all the ports of entries and maybe the closest parking lots to the border. Nor will a wall have a significant impact on opioid smuggled in.

of course they do. Does your house have walls? Does your office?

You might as well argue the wheel doesn't work.

Sorry that I mistook your discussion about a border wall as a discussion about border walls rather than the walls of a building.

the purpose of all walls is to keep things out. They work, thats why people have used them since the beginning of time. Telling me a wall doesn't deter people from entering spits in the face of the entirety of human history.

    if MBS...
was a good friend of Russian Putin, would your opinions’ d changed! if he massacred 700,000 people would you have forgiven him? if he uses the slogan of "death to America/Israel", would that be enough from him to be your vocal hero?

not a fan of MBS at all, but Assad's fans viciousness shadowing Israeli supporters .

I hope his pitching to AIPAC is aimed to persuade them from supporting Assad regime , that is the bottleneck of all the syrian crisis

You want a universal health care to all Americans, but a death sentence to all Syrians....some serious flaw in this logic

I don't have a doubt that your building manager is scared to give you his honset opinion in fear you may report him, that's to be seen someday

In nicaragua the extreme corrupt leftist government attempted to pull something from Speaker Ryan's playbook, by threatening to take away the Nicaraguan version of social security from the people. The people took to the streets, many killed. Much respect to those that protest.

Government shooting and killing protestors would erode everything America stands for. It would be the death of America using the military on a wall. No more better example of big government than a paranoid one that has to twist Jesus's message of love to promote a cleverly disguised message of hate.
I can't believe we're celebrating the death of protestors as a testament that walls work. actually I can. we have people in office that cherish Mussolini.

No one is "celebrating" but when you attack soldiers while invading a foreign country, you get shot. I mean, that's just the way it should be. Hand them a Darwin award and move on.

The Israeli barrier will be roughly 450 miles long.

A US/Mexico barrier would be anywhere from 900-2200 miles long.

That is a massive difference, and the resources required to patrol it like they forces in Israel would be enormous.

Last, I really don't think we should follow the model of Israel when it comes to issues like human rights or foreign policy. Israel is toxic when it comes to their dealings with Palestine.

Mexico is our third largest trade partner with over $500 billion a year in goods crossing the border. That's a lot of economic activity you'd forsake to dampen (or make domestic) the drug trade.

This already happens. Border Agent Swartz was just found not guilty for shooting an unarmed teenage protester on the other side of the border fence in Arizona. Don't want to comment on the appropriateness of the verdict, just want to point out we already have the same dynamic at our existing border barriers that Israel does. We don't need military in order to militarize the border. We've done it already.

The correct answer is Iran and money.

The Western idea of this "Muslim brotherhood" is extremely simplistic. Muslim nations have no problem screwing over other Muslim nations if it is to their benefit.

people much more knowledgeable than you or i have made good cases why a border wall wont work and is a waste of money. trying to draw a comparison to office walls is at best being deliberately obtuse.

There are posters in this thread and advisers to this president that believe Israel hasn't gone far enough.
