When I get on ClutchFans my anti virus hardware goes nuts. I am getting virus warnings constantly. They are blocked, but still. Is anyone else experiencing this? If so, who is attacking ClutchFans. I am not experiencing this on other sites.
I don't get any problems and haven't heard of any from anyone, but can you email me the virus warnings? Also please let me know what style you're using (regular or "Dark" style).
I don't know how to do that. They are pop ups from AVIRA that says a virus is trying to access the site with a ten second "count down" timer. Where do I go to find out if I am in regular or Dark style?
Regular or dark style is the color scheme/layout you choose to view the site in. I'm guessing you're using the regular style by default. If you want to change it, scroll all the way down and it'll be in the bottom left hand corner of the screen.
On the very bottom left hand corner of your screen you can change the theme from regular to dark. I much prefer dark.
Thanks to all for your responses: I am using "regular" mode, FireFox, Avira. Any suggestions except switch to "dark" mode?
I actually did get a virus while on CF. Or maybe it was a coincidence but I only had one window open so....who knows. I had CF open and clicked on a link for a new tab and everything took forever to load. After a long while of waiting my antivirus warns me but I thought it was nothing. I closed the page, tried the exact same thing and almost every link I clicked on redirected me to some weird sites. Had to reformat the pc.
When I'm on my cell phone it will suddenly go to another site and tell me I have a virus. The only way I can get rid of it is to close the page and reopen clutchfans. Is there a solution for this?
Yes. It's called Gold Membership. All these threads in feedback about problems, viruses, etc are due to rogue ads. Upgrade to Gold Membership, and Clutch will turn off all the ads. The concept is no different than subscribing to NBA streaming sites (ads free) vs using the "free" NBA Streams at Reddit (which ppl are wary of because of their ads). Expecting free content from a content provider makes them use ads to support the site. Those ads (even from Google Ads) are attacked by rogue ad providers, and troubleshooting bad ads is challenging like being blindfolded, with one-hand tied behind your back, especially when many of us can't reproduce them. So, just become a Gold Member and *poof* all these annoying ad exploits go away. ----------------From Clutch's Sticky in the GARM ------------------------------ Spoiler Gold Supporting Members For $10 per month (or $75 per year), you will receive all the perks of a Supporting Member PLUS you will be able to experience the forums ad free. Removing all ads from the forums as you surf the threads greatly improves the speed and experience. You can choose one of the options here.
