Ya wasn't trying to read too much into but weird that it's dragging on this late into the morning. Still thinking it'll be A&M. Overall, pretty amazing job by Herman and Crew to pull off the 3rd ranked class coming off a 7-6 season. Obviously the DB class is stellar but really like the job they did filling in the trenches: OL: Grandy, Angilau, Moore, Ghirmai, and Jones is a nice haul but we really need to close on Calvin Anderson as well. Grandy could be a day 1 starter but provides experienced depth at a minimum which is sorely needed. Hoping all of the true freshman can get a RS year. Anderson would completely change the outlook for the OL next season IMO. DL: Coburn/Ojomo are huge pickups for the interior. We've managed to get good production at DT despite not really having any world beaters since Malcolm Brown but speed off the edge has been lacking sorely so pretty excited about Ossai.
They also picked up a offensive lineman from California (Matt Frost) as a walk on. You hope Anderson would walk in and own that left tackle spot and give you one less option for all the other guys which would just simplify things. Even with all redshirts, we should have a decent amount of competition on the at tackle (especially if Cosmi is as good as coaches think) and guard but we need some depth at center. Someone needs to be moved over to compete against Shackelford. Hopefully Hand can improve the reputation of this crew and they can make a run at the top 2019 player in Texas who just so happens to be an offensive lineman. I don't know much about Ojomo. I'm not sure if he is one of those potential guys or what but I really feel like Coburn is going to be the star of the class and a potential starter by the second half of the season or earlier. It might depend on his conditioning and stamina. You can check out his junior year highlights here: Spoiler The staff deserve some credit for not panicking last year and sending out offers to everyone and their mom in order to fill the class up. They only took 17 guys last year and then applied their early enrollees from 2018 to that number to give extra room for 2018 and 2019. They should still be able to add 4-5 2019 early enrollees to this batch.
Ojomo was District MVP so don't think it's all potential but at 16, ya his potential is through the roof. Coburn, Ojomo and Ossai were also All-Houston Defensive First Team which is an impressive haul although the latter 2 could use a RS year. Coburn will get some early playing time assuming he comes in shape and ready. The Hemphill-Mapps transfer is official and as much as we could've used him next season, I'll gladly take guys that want to play for the program vs. the coach. Also reports that Herman and Crew actually boxed up his stuff and left it outside the practice facility. In some better news, sounds like the Duvernays might stick around.
5* WR Jordan Whittington committed few moments ago. Grad transfer Calvin Anderson also announcing tonight as well. Could be a huge weekend for Herman and Co. Edit: Anderson is in. HUGE addition to the program even if just for a season.
Sounds like the owner got sued over a business deal and had to give up the servers to pay for it. The Eskimo Hut guy now owns Shaggy. Looking at that site now is really good prep for what society will do when a meteor strike is imminent.
