Did he? I mean he was a 4 year starter but the list of acomplishments pretty much ends there.

I threw a halloween party in WC the night of the game. It was a depressing end of the game but still a fun party.

Yeah, I can't be mad at how we played. We clearly weren't ready at the start, but Herman made great adjustments and the players bought in. They didn't quit and fold like they used to.

The only disappointing game has been the season opener against Maryland. Every other game has been played much better than the Strong era.

My only gripe with Herman is that he's too aggressive at times going for it on 4th down. I understand the thought process behind it, but it's come back to bite us more often than not.

Yeah Charlie Strong looks like a real **** head coach. To be fair he's not really qualified to be a head coach, MAYBE a coordinator...

In some bright news, UT picked up a big time commit in 4* CB D'Shawn Jamison right after the OU game. 15th ranked prospect in Texas and teammate of Anthony Cook whom we have apparently made up a lot of ground with.

UT could host a MLS team for a couple years while a stadium is built in Austin. The Columbus Crew want to move to Austin but they would have to find enough investors to pay for a stadium. I would support public money to build a new arena for the city but not a soccer stadium that is only going to be used 20 times a year.

I don't see where they're going to imminently put a soccer stadium. I know a piece of land on Barton Springs Blvd. recently went on sale, but I can only imagine the heyday the neighborhood association would have with a proposed stadium. Is the Statesman land still available?

As much as I'd like for it to succeed, I don't see an MLS team working here if they put a stadium at CotA or in the suburbs. It has to be centrally located and there's no way our city council is going to agree on where to build it.

It looks like Anthony Cook will be deciding at the end of the month. The TE Mustapha Muhammad will be deciding at the end of the week. Do we have a chance with either one of them?

They have a shot at Muhammad in that you never know but everyone is predicting he will pick Michigan. I would not hold my breath on that one.

Cook is a tossup. 247 seems to think Texas has an advantage right now after feeling he was going to Ohio St. His high school teammate (also CB) committed last week. I'm not sure the addition of both of them might cause our other CB commit to look elsewhere.

Here are some notes on OL recruiting from EJ Holland:
Texas is reportedly doing well with these top players:
    Joseph Ossai WEAK-SIDE DEFENSIVE END
Ronnie Perkins SAINT LOUIS, MO (LUTHERAN NORTH)
Tommy Bush SCHERTZ, TX (SAMUEL CLEMENS) WIDE RECEIVER
Junior Angilau SALT LAKE CITY, UT (EAST) OFFENSIVE TACKLE

That being said, this is college football recruiting. Who knows if half these guys are going to be here on signing day. Thank god there is now a signing day in December in addition to Feb.

Texas offense is so hard to watch so uninventive.

Ohio State was smart to get rid of Tim Beck

It's more than just Tim Beck. The offensive line can't hold anyone for more than half a second. No team can't run an offense like that.

No screen passes, no draw plays, no sprint outs by the QB, no half back passes, hardly ANY going down the middle everything on the edges....just boring.

Their qb can't pass. Was Herman made by ward?
