Texans general manager Brian Gaine: 'Certainly, there's a challenge not having a first-round or second-round pick'

Gaine on not having a first or second round pick: "We are going to get four players in the top 103 of this draft.... We're very positive we'll get contributors there."

Texans general manager Brian Gaine said on case by case basis would entertain trading up, but historically he would rather trade down to acquire more selections

Texans GM Brian Gaine said he thinks what team did in free agency, especially oline and DB, won't have to draft for need.

Texans GM Brian Gaine: "My philosophy is if we can draft, groom and extend our own, that's what I want to do.'

Gaine: "The players we've acquired on the offensive line and secondary gives us flexibility to draft the best player available."

Brian Gaine: 'We put a great deal of time into the priority free agent process. One notable last year was Dylan Cole. Others Ka'imi Fairbairn and Joel Heath. It starts with having a vision for the player'

Brian Gaine on UDFA process: 'I call that the eighth round'

Brian Gaine on QB draft class: 'They all have their strengths. They all have their weaknesses.'

On not having a first-round pick with Deshaun Watson trade last year: 'That's the price you pay'

Brian Gaine on Jadeveon Clowney: 'I'm optimistic that something will get done.'

Brian Gaine on what he likes about Jadeveon Clowney: 'Height, weight speed, pass rush ability disruptive player, plays the run well. We're doing our best to fortify [roster] and we'd like him to be a part of it.'

Gaine: "We feel very confident in our starting quarterback." #DW4

Brian Gaine: 'When the opportunity presents itself to be aggressive, we'll consider that.'

Texans GM Brian Gaine on running his first NFL draft after decades in the industry: 'At some point, you have to trust your training.'

I don’t know if my expectations could be lower for the draft. Maybe that’s a good thing...

Maybe Those ultra bland PR answers remind me too much of RIck.

    Houston Texans
Full schedule | Predicted record: 11-5

If the Texans can avoid the injury bug that plagued them last year, they will be among the most talented teams in football. With the return of J.J. Watt and Whitney Mercilus and the additions of safety Tyrann Mathieu and cornerback Aaron Colvin, the defense is poised to bounce back, while a healthy Deshaun Watson could make the offense one of the NFL's best if he can pick up where he left off last season. There will be great competition in the AFC South with Jacksonville and Tennessee but this Texans team should be able to compete when healthy. -- Sarah Barshop

he sucks- look at the giants fan on the comments.. They are ecstatic his getting traded, but would be a typical texans move.. Chasing the wrong players
