Having surgery for this next week. Ulnar nerve transposition. Anyone have any experience with this? Seeing all sorts of things as far as recovery goes. Anywhere from a few days to several weeks.

No, but doesn't look too complicated from the pictures. I'll do it for half of what your Dr will charge.

Not ortho/hand but nerve decompression sounds like a minor surgery, even done outpatient I think. I guess it would depend on the etiology (osteophytes from osteoarthritis etc), your age, functional status and other comorbid conditions. Best of luck I'm sure you'll do just fine.

All this stuff is part of the pre-op evaluation and your surgeon is obligated to inform you, so I would reach out to him/her again.

It looks like they are putting a ginormous mouth on your arm with a set of big red lips. I'd be concerned about that part of it. It don't look right.

It won't be days. Pins and needles so sucks touching a nerve on purpose will be shite.

Keeping your arm immobile will get old fast so go in knowing you have to keep your spirits up.

    Good luck, Codell.
May we ask: what causes this? Is it more... programming... or more... um ... Jontro?

I had a bit of this a while ago at a desk job. Poor posture is always an issue with me. I get pinched nerves easily because I'm a devout side-sleeper. Won't do straight back or stomach. I think stomach sleepers are freaks. I dont know how to. ****ing. Breathe.

Good luck, codell. It actually sounds like something I need, too, or at least did need. I hit my funny bone so perfect once...on such a slight bit of contact...that I nearly passed out from the pain. I had ulnar nerve numbness down to my fingers for months. Doctor said it will go away, and didn't recommend any procedure, so never went back. But some days it seems like I'm still affected...nearly three years later.

yep, good luck with the surgery codell. Be sure to allow plenty of time for the area to heal--sometimes folks try to rush the physical therapy before the damage to surrounding tissues has had time to heal. But here's hoping the surgery is successful!

Get well and good luck, Codell! And all this time I thought Ulnar Nerve was a metal band from the early '80's.
