Regulating lobbyists is the most crucial step in cleaning up the D.C. swamp. A huge step forward would include making public or private contact with members of the Administration, Congress and their staff members illegal unless corresponding governmental/party officials representing each of the major political factions -- liberal, conservative and independent -- are invited openly, equally and with at least two weeks notice. Lobbyist contributions should be illegal unless equal amounts of cash goes to each of the three major political entities. Criminal penalties for violations would and should be applied.

Lobbyists do perform a valuable service in providing factual data, figures and faction opinions. However, that information should be distributed uniformly and at the same time to each of the three major political factions. This would go a long way toward pulling lobbyist teeth while harnessing their research abilities.

This is a much bigger deal than your post leads on and probably deserves its own thread.

Qatar refused this deal last year and the United States suddenly called them terrorists and supported a blockade against the country that even the us Secretary of State didn’t know trump was going to support. Today this news breaks that Qatar has bailed the kushners out and what has coincidentally happened in the last few days? New us secretary of State says we want the blockade to end and trump calls Qatar a friend. He was calling them a dem of terrorists when the blockade started. Only thing that has materially changed is that kishner deal
