Not really huge . We are already in good position headed towards the post season .

It will all be dependent on our form

Yanks play them too but only 3 games so that helps us more. Trout always seems to struggle against the Stros regardless.

There is a fine line between an Astro standing on the shoreline fishing for Trout, and a man standing on the shoreline just looking stupid.

The Astros have been very good at keeping him contained and nonthreatening, so it probably doesn't have as big an effect on us, but anything helps. Can't take the Angels lightly because of this, but I don't think they will.

Hope this doesn’t mean the angels going Ewing theory on us.

The Angels have everyone that's any good except SS out for the year, seemingly, and they should be actively trying to lose.

I'm going to be pretty disappointed if we don't finish something like 9-2. Call it 6-1 against them and 3-1 against M's and Rangers.

I understand the importance of getting the #1 seed and home field throughout, especially against the Yankees if we face them in the ALCS. But looking more immediately, who would we really rather face in the ALDS? Oakland - they're kinda scary, especially in a short series with Manea back. Tampa - I like our matchup with them, but we would have to count on them topping Oak in the WC game. Minnesot - I like our matchup with them too, even though they can really mash the ball. I guess my point is, could finishing with the #2 seed in the AL make for an easier first round opponent?

Bregman has a chance at MVP now.

Selfishly, I am a little bummed about Trout's injury. My family and I are traveling from New Zealand to Anaheim to see an Astros game (and, you know, all of that Disney stuff) and I wanted to see one of the all time greats. Ah well.

Look at it this way: instead of seeing 8 all-time greats, you're going to get to see like 7 instead. Still pretty awesome!

You're right, of course. I have never seen the Astros play with Verlander, Cole, or Bregman, much less Alverez. I haven't caught a live Astros game since 2015.

I would much rather play them without that man child in the lineup
