“Golden State is Golden State because of their ability to score”...yeah, which is exactly why u need an elite, top tier defense when going against them...you’re damn sure not outscoring or outshooting them, especially when the ace up your sleeve is a 34 yo Melo

Can the Rockets maintain the level of defense that they played last year? That’s all I care about. It’s like some of y’all weren’t even watching the series against GS.

just because we went 0-27 from deep in game 7 it’s like defense isn’t the key anymore

Three of your losses to GS were

    119-106 G1
    126-85 G3
    115-86 G6 w/o CP3

You also had a 127-105 win in G2

Games 4,5,7 all were pretty going either way and you scored mid 90s, gave up mid 90s and 101 in G7.

However focusing on the two games where you lost by 29+ thats just unacceptable. GS is going to score and you need to combat that. Now Melo doesn't make up the 41 point difference in G3 but he could have probably helped with the 29 point difference in G6 and at least made it closer down the stretch and I think he really helps in G1 with that 13 point deficit especially at home. I mean if you give up 115, 119 and 126 can you really complain about benching a defensive player to add some more firepower to throw at GSW who was seemingly able to to rest on defense.

I must have been watching a different Ariza when I thought he was far beyond his prime. We switched everything so it wasn’t as if Ariza was some sort of stalwart anchor.

Melo's 4 games against the Thunder

    G1- 22 in 36 minutes, GS scored 91
G2- 0 in 6 minutes, GS scored 105, Melo got hurt
G3- 14 in 30 minutes, GS scored 112, OKC had 80 PG scored 5 points, Russ scored 15
G4- 12 points in 36 minutes, GS scored 111, OKC had 107 Russ went for 44

OKC gave up an average of 104 in games Melo played significant minutes vs GS. He was right around his season average of 16ppg in those games.

Ariza will be easily replaced with the guys we have. So will Luc.

Melo shot 33% from the field and 17% from 3 against GS last season...the same Melo that would’ve allowed us to win game 6 or 7 against GS last season according to many on CF because of his offense

Melo had a 4-16 game (0-9 from 3) against GS last year as well as a 6-17 game (1-6 from 3)...GS ain’t worried about this dude

Golden State is absolutely over the moon that we're going to have Melo instead of Ariza next year.

Sigh..... Non athletic people who think Ariza has enough muscle to sustain him for heavy minutes at his age. A lot of players bulked up or increased strength to sustain their careers at a high level. Jordan, pippen, many other. I'd go as far as to say you don't even go to the gym either. You really cannot fathom what physical exertion is. & If you can it's probably from climbing a set of stairs.

Alright dumbass, lets break this down piece by piece.

No one ever claimed Ariza should ever be playing that many minutes. You said it was because he had twigs as arms(which is factually incorrect).
It has little to do with how muscular he is.

Do you wanna know why it happend, It was BECAUSE of how many minutes he played and less(if at all) about the size his muscles that he was off. He was third in minutes played. Harden is way more built than Ariza and he was way off too. Does Harden look like a twig to you?

He had NO BACK UP(Luc unplayable) and had to guard Kevin Durant for an entire series, and your b**** ass is talking about how he hasnt worked out enough, how dumb are you, honestly. Going so far as to question his work ethic when most things that have been said about him points to the contrary.

And then to cement how dumb you are, you compare Trevor Ariza to JORDAN AND PIPPEN, two of the greatest athletes in the history of the sport.

You may never know if I work out or not(LOL) but I know for sure you're an idiot.

Phoenix will probably get better offers for Ariza, but they could take Anderson and a pick this year. Then turn around and trade an expiring Anderson for another pick next year. It would smell of collusion and under-the-table shenanigans if it went down that way, but it would be a pretty shrewd play that benefits both teams.

Who's better on defense, Harden before 2017- 2018 year or Melo last year?

But again thats with Russ leading the show and defensively they never really went off against the Thunder.

Also 4/16, 6/17 is better than 0/12 in a closeout game.

You really are pushing it and honestly you deserve for this thing to go south with that attitude.

Like Morey said it’s abot how you incorporate a player into your system. It’s not about what they did elsewhere.

The Suns won't be. I still think he'll be back as a Rocket eventually. If Melo signs for cheap and we still have ryno...i can see us trading back for him. Especially when it is time to start resting alot of our guys for playoffs. If anything we know D'antoni will definitely play him. Hopefully a roster past 7 players for once.

In the 2 regular season games against GS Ariza's numbers

    5.5ppg on 23/23/0

    7 playoff games

    8.9ppg on 33/20/86

So even Melo in a down year with Westbrook did better LMAO.

Morey is a genius, MDA and CP3 gonna do magic and I'm loving it.
