I'm assuming you mean movement from 2016 election.

Move left on health care, education, corporations, voting rights

    Move right on immigration

But really all you have to do is get Democrats and independents to show up at the polls, plus all the millions of illegals and the deep state, the black hats and the MSM and the SJW's and the Twitterati, the illuminati and Antifa plus the new new new Black Panther Party.

Turn out to vote. Whether your favorite candidate is the nominee or not.

    Listen to the advice of

    1) Random people from basketball message board
    2) Coterie of interchangeable old rich white guys
    3) Republicans who get paid by democrats to say they don't like Trump.

    Number 1is actually go vote.

The number one message needs to be the incompetence of his administration.

Not the the doom and gloom of losing our democracy just the blatant incompetence and the grifters who surround him which furthers the incompetence message.

...couldn't hurt to harp on that "losing our democracy" point...

...we're kind of in this fix because most of our public offices are now obviously financially compromised...

...but yeah...better off keeping things simple...

...being smart doesn't carry the same weight around here as it once did...:);):D

You say #1 is simply... go vote. But that's what this thread is about, and why it's a great one at that.

What will bring more people in to vote for the Dems? Going right? Staying centrist? or going left?

The Dems being anti trump doesn't make people want to vote for Dems. The Dems have to offer something of substance to the American people, they have to inspire all the disenfranchised Americans who don't vote.

Building off my comment above, I think the answer couldn't be clearer, further left.

The left needs to actually represent the left. They left can't just be Republicans who aren't racist and don't hate gays (playing identity politics as a whole). The majority of Americans are left, they just don't vote. They are disenfranchised. The question needs to stop being how do the Dems appeal to right wingers and centrist, the question needs to be how doe the Dems appeal to all the disenfranchised left leaning Americans who don't vote. And again, that answer to that is simple, actually represent them, and not wealthy campaign contributors, lobbyist, and corporations.

The Democrats need to select someone who will fight for their positions with strength and in an almost aggressive manner. It doesn't matter whether they are moderate or far left as much as it does that are stubborn defenders of their possessions.

Being able to clearly articulate the position will also help because that prevents the other side from misrepresenting the positions.

Being strong and looking like a leader and fighter matters more than leftist verses moderate.

I think the desire to essentially to say policy positions are not that important is not necessarily correct.

Fighter with strength and almost aggressive is correct. Bernie obviously fits this.

Now finding a moderate who also fits this is tougher. It is very hard to carry this out and it requires great personal charisma and rhetorical skills which Obama had, but more and more folks are seeing as not having accomplished much. Some Democrats talk a lot about "fighting" they constantly claim to be "fighting" for people, but seem pretty much status quo which is sort of a strange concept. You have Kamala (sorry Deckard), but you can't undo your debating skill show of strength by equivocating the next day due to a desire not to piss off anyone. It also requires consistency, and almost by definition what is considered "moderate" changes all the time. Hence all of the current Democrats taking positions that are different from what they took 2 to 4 years ago.

Now Biden may be the last of the moderate incrementalist status quo Democrat moderates. http://nymag.com/intelligencer/2019/02/joe-biden-last-hurrah-moderate-democrats.html
Biden is now trying to be more aggressive status quo moderate sort of guy.

The black golfer method, wait for the crazy racists to get it out of their system or die off and keep doing what you're doing.
