It was mildly amusing on April 1, annoying on April 2. I guess you can't please everyone. I don't like people playing a schtick; I like to debate people who are sincere, regardless of their view. But, I just put NewYorker on the ignore list and the problem was 90% solved -- the other 10% was unavoidable because of the all people complaining about it.

I've been reading the latest posts in this forum to "catch up" after taking a D&D hiatus. As I suspected, nothing has changed. However, that doesn't mean we -- including myself -- can't try. Oh, I will have fun with political silliness, but I promise my remarks will address ideas or opinions with which I agree or disagree. I will refrain from assailing the character or motivations of other members.

My wit is aging, rusty and dull, but that won't stop me from charging into the D&D fray. I missed all of you -- political friends and foes alike.

How has your Democratic Party infiltration gone so far? Any news on Obama's birth certificate?

I haven't been involved in political activity of any kind for quite some time. Since Culbertson, Poe and Cruz are pretty safe, I've been relatively unmotivated, especially since all the Harris County and Houston politicians are rather useless.

You may, if you have cause. Of course, your causes usually swim in the dregs of human thought. :p

Poe is definitely safe, Thumbs, since he has announced he is retiring.

Poe? ….. Ted? Edgar Allan? If Ted, I hadn't heard. I guess my hibernation has been too deep.

    So very true!

Perhaps fittingly, playing this got my dogs barking too, when they weren't even involved in the original discussion, and therefore had not the slightest idea what they were even barking about. Sound familiar?

FWIW, both of the above visual representations are often accurate. One could debate which is more accurate (ie, on which side it is more prevalent), but that probably wouldn't be fruitful. The point, I think, is it certainly isn't one sided, although each side often pretends that it is. This is the root of much of the issue in having a reasoned discussion, I think. it's hard to have a reasoned discussion with someone who has already presumed you to be tone deaf, and an imbecile, and likewise the other direction. The dogs barking gif shows how that always works out. Which dog do you think thinks they 'won' that exchange? Both of them, right? Which one actually did? Neither, clearly. They both just retreated back to their camp, ready to bark meaninglessly again.
