This team has borderline expansion level talent right now

That's what happens when you constantly trade away picks and overpay for free agents

 

That will happen when you lose: holy phenom watson, merciless, covington, Malcontent All pro tackle, bouye. Not listing watt because they were used to playing without him.

 

Not including the injured players? Yeah, close. Not sure if an expansion team would have someone the level of Hopkins but this is definitely an expansion worthy OL and QB without Watson.

 

Yet somehow Rick keeps staying employed.

I agree, Rick needs to go! His stupid decision making especially overpaying for an unproven Brock Osweiller put the team in this position in the first place. What he just did is trade away all of our picks just to fix the first mistake he created.

Every one likes to say Cleveland is a bad organization but they came out like bandits out of this and benefited from a our incompetent GM and owner.

As we all saw, Watson alone can’t fix what this team is suffering from. We need major help everywhere, and I don’t think this regime is capable of handling it

It’s a handful of supremely talented, transcendent players making scrubs around them look ok. Those guys all got injured and boom, you’re left with guys who can’t possibly fill the void.

Depth is and always has been an issue.

 

The browns passed up wentz and Watson. They are looking like fools.

 

The Watson trade is fine, but . .

The Brock Osweiler signing was awful.
Having to trade a second round pick to get rid of Osweiler was awful.
Letting free agents walk because he was trying to leave cap room for Tony Romo was awful.
Playing contract chicken with our best offensive lineman and basically being forced to trade him was awful.

All leads us to having a crappy OLine and Secondary in need of serious help but no first or second round picks next year to help.

 

The Talent is there. The problem is on offense....at QB. Your offense has to help out the defense. The defense will get tired if they are on the field all game long.

You are also missing veteran leadership on the defense without Cushing, Watt and Mercilus.

 

Yet when Watson was putting up all the points it was the defense that couldn't support him....

 

Why doesn't McNair build a smart front office like the Astros and Rockets have?

It's funny how every year Texans fans will talk about injuries to this team as the reason why they fail. Yet if you look at the top teams in the NFL they also constantly run into injury issues and they overcome them.

The difference between real contenders and the Texans is that the Texans have no depth. Remember the days when Cushing gets sidelined and suddenly they start using LBs that have no business being in the NFL and getting torched every week? Does this happen to any other good team where they can't even replace a linebacker? Yet it happens to the Texans all the time. Yes, Watson is irreplaceable. I'm not gonna say we should've had a backup plan there. But it's clear we have no backup plans anywhere else either. Or we'd actually be able to beat the Luckless Colts at home.
