those dictator wet dreams, he inches closer and closer. The next step is to create make believe attempts on your life the way Maduro and Putin do. Speaking of which, Russia is now the number one exporter of wheat. It started with Putin just helping out his compadres Ortega and Maduro. Now Putin is exporting more grains to Mexico. Get rich or Rye trying, homies. He has cornered the grain game.
He has officially gone off the deep end. I expect rumblings about a legitimate primary candidate any day now. I'm sure Mitch and the boys are freaking out about now.
This further blurs the lines between trump's personal and campaign interests (having his personal lawyer meet with foreign representatives in order to get "dirt" on a political candidate and his family). And having this run through his department of justice?? The corruption is never-ending...
republicans not just defending and enabling trump's insane Denmark flap about buying Greenland, but they are fundraising off it...
If freaking out is characterized by prostrating yourself and chanting, "Thank you sir. Can I please have another?"
trump has completely broken the republican party... this idiot senator is taking credit for advising trump to try to purchase Greenland. Also laughable to any justifying the idea by pointing to Truman. First, Truman pursued it at a very different time (50's) when global challenges and military capabilities (both offensive and defensive) were very different. Second, Truman did it under Cold War secrecy. And even then, Denmark was just as shocked by Truman's and turned him down (but agreed to work with the U.S. on shared defense). U.S. Sen. Tom Cotton backs buying Greenland, says he floated idea to Trump, Danish ambassador https://www.arkansasonline.com/news/2019/aug/22/cotton-backs-buying-greenland-20190822/
This upsets me greatly (bigly?). I know a bunch of these guys, and they have stories that range from "wonderful" to "hell", depending on what's wrong and where they send you.
Right on, man, hope I don't get too personal here. All my Hill Country people go to the VA clinic in Kerrville, which everyone to a man loves (the employees, the ease of the visit, etc...is solid) but when they need to go somewhere more serious, it's Brooks AFB/Hospital in San Antonio, which is apparently not fun at all. There's aren't any other options really, outside of Killeen and apparently you don't want to go there either. These are mostly all older Vietnam era guys, just to give you an idea. What are your experiences in places (I'm assuming all around Houston)? What would you ask them/us (as voters and citizens) to do differently? I'm involved volunteering with the VFW and the Wounded Warriors around here, so as a non-vet I like to think I try and help as much as possible. eta: Also, and again not prying...have you ever been interested in a VFW? Membership is lagging as unfortunately a generation passes, and from what I've heard the younger (post 9/11) guys just don't even think about as something they'd want to join.
https://www.nbcnews.com/news/latino...rto-rico-greenland-puerto-ricans-are-n1045296 Even Puerto Rico is making fun of him. He needs to bring out big guns to fix his amazing deal maker image that he sold his base on. Tom Cotton is being considered for many positions in administration and so he is taking a hit for his Boss' ineptitude.
I was at Randolph when I got out and had to go over to the VA on the Northwest side of San Antonio to get processed. Wasn’t too bad if you got there early, but it got packed quick; saw a lot of folks waiting around for awhile over my 5-6 trips there. Never made it to Brooks, for VA purposes, but I’ve heard the horror stories. Honestly, though, the VA was better than the regular military I got in San Antonio. Suffered a neck injury in my 16th year, and then spent a year and a half getting the run around as they forced me out of the service. Long story short, they eventually pushed me out for mental illness even though I had no history prior to the neck injury and they ignored MRIs showing the injury. Unfortunately, being a big city with a major military hospital, I couldn’t go elsewhere barring an emergency. Once I was out, I immediately found a specialist, had surgery scheduled the next month and immediately felt much better as my nerves and blood vessels were no longer being pinched. Houston VA is similar to what you described. I live out in Katy and love going to the clinic here...quick, easy, painless. Heading to the central one is a chore. Parking is atrocious, folks mulling about outside the building, 1st floor is packed and trying to figure out where to go is almost impossible. Even when you make it in, it’s an assembly line feeling where you’re just a number and then on your way. Hate having to go there. I’ve got a VFW membership, but that’s more from hanging out in them at some of my stops. My favorite was in Korea...loved stopping in there.
A huge amount of respect and appreciation for your service and sacrifice. I really do hope that all your VA experiences are as care-free as they should be. Sucks to have been on the wrong end of the bureaucratic pushers there. Thanks again for everything.
You may be about right, my old man did 6 back in the late 60-70's, and he probably would have traded those for 90 of anything you got.
Damn, I barely tolerated 4 years. Definitely respect. Are you retired? Were you satisfied with your VA disability rating because when I got mine, I was pretty disappointed but just didn't have the will power to try to appeal it.
As voters, as citizens, if we could ask our representatives (or nonprofits or whothe****ever) to do something, what would it be? PM me anytime.
