I gave 1,2, and 4 to Whittaker so I'm good with the decision but I'd have considered giving 5 to Romero 10-8 so I could see a draw too.
I thought round was clearly 10-8. Whittaker hardly landed and was hurt most of the round. Contrast that to round 4 which Whittaker won but he got rocked real bad toward the end. He mostly won that round because Romero was too tired to engage. To put those 2 rounds on equal footing is crazy. These MMA judges don't utilize 10-8 scoring as much as they should.
I completely agree. MMA judges can be REALLY bad, even worse if they gave Romero the 10-8 it's a draw which sets up a rubber match. As it stands, Whittaker won the first two kind of killing a 3rd.
In some ways it was an act of kindness, it let her know that she's not ready for the top fighters. Can you imagine what would have happened to her if she was fighting Cyborg instead of Holly?
Thought it was interesting that the Russian national team a few days ago wished Khabib good luck in his fight versus Conor. I read that and was wondering...huh? Which fight? Nothing's been announced or even mentioned as being close. I guess this is it
