Giuliani, the POTUS’s personal lawyer, is encouraging Ukraine to wade further into sensitive political issues in the United States, seeking to push the incoming government in Kiev to press ahead with investigations that he hopes will benefit the Trump re-election

he plans to travel to Kiev, the Ukrainian capital, in the coming days and wants to meet with the nation’s president-elect to urge him to pursue inquiries that allies of the White House contend could yield new information about two matters of intense interest to Mr. Trump.

    • One is the origin of the special counsel’s investigation into Russia’s interference in the 2016 election.
    • The other is the involvement of former Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr.’s son in a gas company owned by a Ukrainian oligarch.

      • in a tit for tac for Fredo Trump being subpoena by the Senate
        • the POTUS has called attention to the scrutiny of Mr. Biden’s son Hunter Biden, and to questions about the former vice president’s involvement in the removal of a Ukrainian prosecutor whose office had authority over investigations of the oligarch whose company paid Hunter Biden.

Wouldn't it make more sense to ask our own investigative agencies to conduct investigations, and they could make information requests to foreign governments if they need it for their work?

Then you would run the risk of actual investigations being done instead of whatever carnival of bullsh!t Rudy is going to oversee.

It is difficult to believe that this fiasco happened at all. One would think that the entire ****-up is a chapter taken from a very bad spy novel or political drama, but it isn’t, of course. I’m waiting for the usual explanations from trump’s ardent supporters here. That “it’s a conspiracy by the Democrats, with Joe Biden’s collusion!” That or, “Obama’s responsible! He began this plot while still in office!” Perhaps it will be, “America’s mayor was duped by the CIA into thinking an oligarch in Ukraine, an oligarch who doesn’t exist, had dirt on Joe Biden, and he does!”

It doesn’t have to make sense. It never does for trump’s most frantic supporters. Logic is spelled S.T.U.P.I.D. for those people. Oh, and the poor were involved. The poor and the Oakland Worriers. There’s no doubt about it. Damn referees!

Our government is run by these same people, and the Legislative Branch has almost totally abdicated its Constitutional requirement as a check against the Executive.

Why is any of this difficult to believe? I do hope things will change.
