He was definitely racist but was still progressive by the measure of the day. He still moved the nation forward.

 

We can't move forward until we burn down the past memorials and art work that offends me.

 

I don't think it should be hard to say that fighting to preserve slavery is offensive to almost everyone.

Statues that honor that part of our history should be preserved at the battlefields where it happened and/or museums.

 

Don't clog museums and public lands with memorials to hate and slavery breh. All of that art is highly offensive to me and needs to just be destroyed.
