Yep a payroll taxcut doesn't mean much when so many people are unemployed. I agree that no employment based solution is possible until the virus is under control.
As a libertarian taxpayer (cheapskate), I want my share of the handouts too!! taxcut!! taxcut!!! taxcut!!!!
The tsunami of economic devastation that is about to be unleashed - against the backdrop of a raging uncontrolled pandemic is beyond their comprehension. Evictions, foreclosures - 2009 is going to look good next to this. And it's going to go very high up the income ladder.
The economy is going to be crap until the pandemic is under control. The country would likely be better off is everyone just going into an extra high level of lockdown-- where no activity is allowed except absolutely necessary-- for a period rather than this prolonged but rather half-assed lockdown that we continue to suffer.
Real job creators are about to take it harder up the ass. Small biz Protip: Better read up on your shops insurance policy and the best stock tips, then buy a ton of gasoline. The only stimulus you'll get anytime soon, "America's Heroes"
Aside from the lungs and heart, the patient’s body is functional. Aside from his feet, Yao Ming was in perfect shape for NBA competition.
trump has to grift... tweet disappeared, here is a full report: New Senate GOP coronavirus bill includes unrelated White House demand for FBI headquarters money $1.75 billion provision is not connected to the pandemic response but reflects Trump’s ongoing interest in a new downtown FBI building. https://www.washingtonpost.com/business/2020/07/27/fbi-building-coronavirus-stimulus-congress/ It appears that awareness of this latest trump attempt at grift has caught up with mcconnell...
Hopefully soon the senate will be taken away from republicans who seem incompetent when it comes to creating legislation...
Good to know that grift for the president inserted in the COVID-19 relief bill isn't a "dealbreaker"...
Senate republicans are idiots. They been playing this "wait and see" game while House Democrats delivered a bill to them months ago. Now, they are parading this less than acceptable bill and will be forced to accept whatever Pelosi/Mnunchin come up with because they chose to wait till the last minute. Pelosi already publicly stated that the House will not go into recess at the end of the month if it means getting a bill passed that helps the American people. McConnell on the other hand has made no such statement and has been pushing this bill since Senate goes on recess August 7th. Essentially McConnell has put himself in a corner (self inflicted wound) and will have to pass something he does not like. Senate Republicans are at risk of losing their majority and they decided to play politics at the worst possible time when their numbers are down. Bunch of morons if you ask me. They could of started negotiating this and getting their **** together since the end of May lol.
I don't think Senate Republicans are idiots. I think they are cowards. It's same with the law enforcement bill that put out. They understand how controversial anything they do will be and figure it it's better to play it safe and put out a half-ass bill that has no chance of passing and then leave the political consequences to the Democratic House and Trump. That way if anything comes out that is very unpopular they can either argue that it was the Democrats that forced them into or if they need to distance themselves from Trump that it was Trump that forced them.
