Hey, folks can be convinced that Iran is an existential threat to the US who has attacked us. It would be easy to fabricate an incident in the Straights of Hormuz or exaggerate some minor incident. It is getting a bit harder after the WMD hoax, but it can be done. We have the Israeli and Saudi lobbies working as hard as possible to accomplish a war on Iran and they pretty much run US policy in the region. Fox will do its best. I don't watch Rachel Maddow any more, but if she is down, then you know it may just be a matter of time.

Sending the first, third or whichever fleets over to the coast of Iran can only do so much for the MIP, the military industrial complex and news ratings. The recent plan to send 10,000 US troops over with the cost plus civilians is a money maker. Not an actually invasion, but shooting off a thousand cruise missiles does so much for MIP. Besides it is good footage and great for Cable News ratings. If Trump says "go" you can probably count on the NYT and WaPo to do their part, too.

It probably gets down to whether Trump with Kushner, Bolton, Pompeo and the gang pushing needs the war for political purposes.

How the Hell did neocons get so much influence? Just look at Bolton. He looks like a movie bad guy. Pompeo looks like a old High school bully. Those two would bomb and invade every country if they had their way.

If Iran wants to have more influence in the Mid East, who gives a crap. They are a good counter to Saudi and we actually have common enemies in all those radical Sunni groups in the region.

Well, I don’t think there will be a war but I’m sure tons of money will be wasted. The military already does everyday. Throwing my taxes into a burning dumpster.

Seems like it might be time for a new Clutchfan charitable function. Maybe donations for Iranian refugees?

Iran talk is a big stick. We are more likely to invade smaller theaters where they have assets and damage them there. All out war with Iran is costly.

Honestly guys, the fabric of US society would not survive the redistribution of wealth - a cut from everyone's paycheck directly into billionaire's pockets - that a war with Iran would require. There is a major cash flow problem already and an insane amount of debt. Yes it will assist the GDP number, but that has little to do with the well being of 90% of America.

Don't even entertain the idea, this is the iceberg in the Titanic.
