    Trump, the ultimate flip-flopper

Citizen Trump was on the cover of the September 28, 1987 issue of Newsweek, w the headline ,“A Billion Dollar Empire and an Ego to Match,”

In an “open letter,” Trump attacked the foreign policy of then-POTUS Ronald Reagan: “The world is laughing at America’s politicians,” he wrote, for protecting “ships we don’t own, carrying oil we don’t need destined for allies who won’t help.”

Now that Trump is the POTUS,

his administration has bruited the possibility that once again the U.S. Navy will be protecting ships we don’t own carrying oil we don’t need destined for allies who won’t help

Nonsense. The economy was doing very well when Obama left office. All trump has done is explode the budget. As for this? "This thread is already a little too pro-Iran for my tastes." Go brush your teeth. I don't see anyone being pro-Iranian. We're "pro-Iran not getting a nuclear weapon." That is hardly "pro-Iranian." Our allies in Europe supported the deal to prevent Iran from developing one. They still support it. Would you call them pro-Iranian? If you do, you're crazy, with all due respect. Broaden your sources of news, man. I don't know where you are getting this stuff, but it is a twisted mess, a pack of lies.

There is a big difference to 'protecting ships you don't own, carrying oil you don't need, destined for allies who won't help' when it serves no real american public purpose besides doing so as a perceived responsibility since you're a world power opposed to 'protecting ships you don't own, carrying oil you don't need, destined for allies who won't help' when it's a vital aspect to a planned & public military maneuver towards crippling a foreign adversary with the lowest risk of lives lost such as what Operation Maximum Pressure is.

That's not flip-flopping~~> reason & context is key my dude adoo

    you're projecting your ignorance.

lots of words put together that, when taken as a whole, say nothing.

ah, the danger of parroting disjointed mis-information about which you know nothing.

The entire point of our current actions in that area is to de-stablize Irans currency & economy which is reliant on oil. Since Iran can't just export more and more oil due to sanctions what they are trying to do is raise the price of oil so that they get more money off of the supply they are able to export. This is why Iran is lashing out left and right~~ doing whatever they can to disrupt the oil market and drive the price of oil up.

There is no misinformation about this. The whole point of operation maximum pressure is completely clear with clear goals and the fact Iran is lashing out is showing they are beginning to get desperate.

There is a HUGEEEE difference now than in 1987~~ to disregard that would be pulling an adoo, something not smart to do.

You have to put things in context.

In 1941 people were down to bomb Germany and Japan. Today? My bet is the vast majority still living of those same people don't want to bomb Germany or Japan at the moment. Huge flip floppers!!! because look I have statements of them previously saying 'Lets bomb Japan!!'

***Announced edit: to add in the words *still living. Apparently some on this board couldn't critically think through that one on their own.

That's because you can't have opinions if you're dead.

there you go again, publicizing ur ignorance.

for the education of the ignorant Realjad,
Japanese submarines torpedoed the coast of Oregon,
japanese planes attacked Los Angeles and then
japanese declared war on the US, followed by its bombing of pearl harbor

4 days after the Pearl Harbor bombing, Germany declared war on the USA

further, Realjad is ignorant of the fact that Reagan's actions were on the heels of Iranians holding US diplomats as hostage. the US sanction Iran and had frozen its bank accounts in the US.

since then, US/Iranian relations had improved, however small, to the point of
reaching a nuclear treaty and the US returning Iranian assets.

this was before Trump took office. since then, the dotard has F****ed up the situation

I think everyone understood the analogy in regards to Japan.

In 1987 the US wasn't in that area serving any announced specific public purpose like today where Trump has announced a specific public purpose of doing it. That was the point.

That isn't a flip-flop. Flip flopping is Bush senior saying 'no new taxes' and then once acquiring the position he implements taxes. A future flip flop is democrats saying illegals will have universal healthcare and come primaries will change their tune.

Now yes, since you hate Trump there are instances he has flip flopped. What you posted is farrrrrrrr and awayyyy from one of those instances though.

And here is why the idiot-in-chief tweeting of sensitive (if not outright confidential) photos he saw and photographed in an intelligence briefing is important:
