If he wasn't saying this stuff, would anyone care what he had to say?

    There you go.

Well if he actually had things to say and was right when he said them he'd get a reputation for knowing what he's talking about....of course that's harder than being a hot take machine so maybe that's why so many choose that option.

True. I kept listening to see what other **** would come out of his mouth. But I think he genuinely believes these things. To be fair, he continued the conversation by saying Watt was the hardest working man in football and said Bayless was an idiot for having Watt as the 20th player he'd select in the NFL.

Didn't do **** against the Patriots again. He turns into a scrub when he plays New England, not good for someone who's supposed to be the best defensive player in the NFL. Von Miller shows up to play against the Patriots.

Doesn't help when BOB is running 3 man rushes so the Pats can just triple and double team our guys at the line

Not an excuse. Wish Romeo would have changed up the look at least

Can't blame Romeo. You are supposed to be the greatest. In that game, with that history:
Big time players, make big time plays, in big time games.

You don't judge players by their performance against 1 team and throw out the rest of their stats. That doesn't make any sense. He is not supposed to be the best defensive player in football, he has inarguably been the best since his 2nd season.

Sure you can. Great players are judged on their performances against elite competition. Von Miller comes through for his team when he plays elite teams in the season and in the Playoffs. JJ Watt becomes an afterthought against those same teams, but he pads his stats against the lowly Titans and Jaguars every year.

First off, are you actually arguing that JJ Watt isn't a great player?

I'm not sure where you're pulling your second statement from? You went from his performance against the Patriots to somehow him being an afterthought against "those same teams", whoever those teams are.

He's played 5 playoff games, including last year where he was hurt and left. The other 4 ranged from good to brilliant.

Von Miller had 2 great playoff games last season. He's an amazing player. That doesn't make the last 5 complete seasons irrelevant. Against the whole of the league JJ Watt has really unquestionably been the better player.

JJ is invisible against the Pats and also very average against the Colts. It's not the only reason we have never been able to consistently beat those teams but it is a key one. On the other hand, Von Miller is a disruptive force against those two teams, you saw it again last week when he had the strip sack leading to a TD.

Watt may have been better than Miller 3 seasons ago, but Miller has taken it to a different level ever since last year and has continued that form so far this year. Right now, Miller > Watt.

    Also, Miller's health & conditioning > Watt's health & conditioning.

Miller plays a traditionally more disruptive position; there's no 1:1 comparison. Watt is a destructive force from his position, the likes of which the NFL has never seen.

The question wasn't whether Miller is currently better than Watt. He definitely is. Watt is just coming off surgery. Miller hasn't been the better player until the playoffs last year and the first 3 games of this season.

But your stance intimated that Watt wasn't a great player and Miller was based on a sample size of 2 playoff games and results vs 1 team.

Miller up until last week had 3 games played with 8 tackles and 0 sacks vs the Colts. What a disruptive force he's been.
