Yes, that's the problem for the Aggies and also the Longhorns. On field results never seem to match the talent coming into the program. Teams like TCU seem to do more with less while the Aggies and Longhorns consistently disappoint.

So...O/U on years before Aggie fan base wants to fire Jimbo: 2 years? A large payout when they fire him...lol.

Texas A&M fell for the loser’s hymn of “S-E-C! S-E-C!”

Alabama will play Georgia for the College Football national title, which if you believe the good people who comprise Aggie Nation is just as good as a Texas A&M playing for the championship, too.

One of the true genius pieces of sports marketing is the SEC’s successful cultivation of the preposterous, bordering on offensive, notion that all conference members share in the others’ success.

The thunderous chant of “S-E-C! S-E-C! S-E-C!” is a marketing gimmick made for losers.

I'm sure Texas A&M fans are loving this national championship game. After all, no matter who wins, they can raise a banner for a conference national championship.

Not sure why this is being directed at A&M fans, all the SEC schools chant SEC to reiterate it being the toughest conference in CFB

If only the Aggies could buy a national championship. They have got the money to do it.

Let's look at that recruiting battle because that's really all either of us have right now : )

Texas is gunning for A&M WR Preston
A&M is gunning for Texas NT Coburn

They are both after Defensive Tackles Ossai, Ojomo, and Alabama Commit Vernon Jackson, and Wide Receivers Moore and Waddle. It sounds like Ossai is a UT lean and Waddle is A&M.

The Ags flipping Coburn would be the steal of the decade. I could deal with losing the recruiting battle for all of the other guys if we were able to hold on to Coburn.

Yes Well, it looks like its not going to bf
This is what they brought Fisher in for. Sumlin was a great recruiter, but lack of success had to lower the luster. A&M needs to win the recruiting battle with Texas. If you were a recruit, who looks better to you? Hermann, or Fisher? I would have to think its Fisher, particularly on the defensive side. How many such recruits has Hermann put in the NFL, vs Fisher?

I don't think we know who looks better to recruits. Herman's message is definitely working. Fisher just picked up one of the top defensive players in the county for 2019 which is an early indication that his message might work well as well. I think the biggest knock on Jimbo is if he can rebuild teams as guys graduate vs just another coach that built 1 good cycle. That's a pretty good knock to have if you are a coach and it's more success than Herman has as a head coach.

Problem is that it's not apples to apples since Herman didn't have access to the caliber of players Florida St did as a major program in a p5 conference so there is going to be that "potential" which makes it harder for people to compare their records as head coaches. It also helps that Herman beat Fisher in their only matchup as head coaches. Still, Fisher is very very very legit and a great great hire. I just think there is a lot of appeal that Herman has.

Jimbo is trying to make a big splash for NSD2. They picked up ONeil which isn't a big shocker. Getting the WR Waddle out of Houston would be. A number of players are down to A&M and Alabama.

Here is the latest from 247 if anyone is interested:

Not to mention 4* Dual QB James Foster from FSU, and 4* OL Tank Jenkins from Ole Miss. Between them, Leon, and HOPEFULLY Waddle, I'd say Jimbo has been putting in some serious work.

Ugh man I hope they don't pick up Waddle. That would hurt.
