BoB sounded optimistic about Foreman, but was blunt that he will have to be in game shape, especially stamina wise before he is added back to the offense. I'd be shocked if we saw him before the playoffs, but the fact that we are even talking about him is a testament to his work ethic, and Texans medical and training staff.

isn't the history of successful recovery from an Achilles tear virtually nil? I have zero expectations

“He’s got to be able to run more than two plays before needing a drink of water”

For running backs? Ya pretty much none. But quite a few success stories for other skill positions. Let’s hope Foreman can be one.

Hate to say it but put a fork in him. He's done.

What is Miller's contract status for next year? If the Texans can get out of it. I would make a play for Hyde.

There just aren't that many examples to draw from with running backs. But like other procedures, success rates seem to be improving with achilles injuries as well. For example, our very own Demaryius Thomas tore his early in his career and went on to be great. Crabtree, Terrell Suggs, and others have come back and done well also. Obviously, every injury is different so a lot depends on the specific nature of each of their tears/etc.

The fact that he is young, has access to cutting edge medical therapy, and the type of back he is all certainly help his chances. Stem cell therapy has changed the recovery game in recent years, and while he may not have been able to get treatments here in Texas, some states offer more treatment options and going to a place like Panama would have been ideal. I'd be willing to bet that any player who is injured now (like Dez) and who wants to still play likely has a few stamps on their passports from stem cell therapy friendly countries by the time their rehab is done.

Did BOB really say that? If so, that's not good. He will defend players left and right unless he feels they are being lazy, or out of shape because of not working hard enough.

Michael Crabtree would probably be the most successful case in recent history. No, he's not a rb...but WRs do cut and sprint.

What the whole ****?! Man just go get Mike Gillislee or Kniles Davis and save D'onta for next year and stop toying with our emotions, this is bullshit

Put him on ice it’s ok.

I believe in doing things for the best interest for the player.

This kid is only 22 years old with his whole career still ahead of him after suffering what some call a career ending injury. I don’t want to be selfish and say for them to activate him just because.

With him being so young we could have the opportunity to put him on ice this year and possibly put him on PUP list at the beginning of next year as well for him to get as healthy as possible. And he could still come back as a really young RB with potential down the road.

If he's healthy I say activate him, if anything just for some depth at RB, put him third on the depth chart. If anything happened to Miller our running game would go from great to terrible very quickly.

The confusing and sad thing is he says he is healthy and ready to go.

Bruce Ellington did. And he was right. He has 19 catches in 3 games for the Lions.
