Supposedly, Caserio is still in play without final say on Personnel.

Sounds like it's structured like the Bob McNair RS/Kubiak committee.

I'm guessing in praise of BoB, and by Cal's order, "Stand By Your Man" plays on a loop during committee meetings.

their defense was pathetic, they have no receivers or tight ends. Back up QB to Tom is questionable.

they had a soft strength of scheduled and handled scrubs early in the year. They were exposed late in the season.

where are the star players that used to anchor all facets of the team.

even when they were good - a strong culture, winning program and qb willing to give up salary made player acquisition easy. The last few years, their player management, including cutting josh Gordon with no backup, highly questionable.

they’ve had receiver problems for years. Gronk’s retirement pulled out their core mismatch. No Stud linebacker and cornerback you have to account for in your gameplan.

just bellicek and the rapidly again Brady to compete against.

Don't you think he gets and/or seeks input from O'Brien?

Cal does what O’Brien wants when it comes to the actual football side of the equation.

    BOB hand picked his GM
    BOB fired his GM
BOB made a push for a Patriots executive
BOB decided he would be the defacto GM
BOB decided who to cut during the season
BOB made major trades during the season
BOB decided which players to extend
BOB decided who on his staff to fire and hire

Short of being Al Davis or Jerry Jones, BOB couldn’t have any more power than he currently has. Cal rubber stamps what BOB wants.

Maybe it works out - maybe it doesn’t but when the Texans do something football related, BOB wanted it done.

Bob McNair was sick and went with who he was familiar with as GM.

Ever notice how after Easterby was hired all of the other things you listed happened.

I think Easterby is behind the scene calling the shots, this all happened after Cal hired Easterby on to do a thorough evaluation of the team. Now if you want to say Easterby/BOB are working in lockstep I would agree with you.

I'm just glad the F/O is aligned.

Honestly I've never felt that the Texans are all that creative when it comes to contracts. Not saying hes overrated or anything as a cap guy, but more like the McNairs arent really all that interested in cheating the cap to squeeze as much talent as possible. This seems to be extra true recently as we keep wasting years of Watson rookie deal while being quite conservative in cap usage.

In the end these things are fairly unimportant until the top of the organization decides that seeking championship is more important than 9-7. Until then a cap guru doesnt really matter much

    This.

Easterby has power and pull just as does O’Brien.

There was even a article about how Easterby has already been placed at the top of the power structure by Cal because Cal for whatever reason believes Easterby knows what he’s doing.

And also 1000% agreed that I’m just happy the organization from top to bottom is getting aligned as well.

And I’m still all for Caserio coming over as well even if it is after the draft. More input and advice for the all things related to the organization from people who really know how to build and be a winning organization and team.
