Inglourious Basterds and Django Unchained..? Jackie Brown through Death Proof was the low point I didn't think he was coming out of.
you mean a great film, or are you joking? I thought Inglourious Bastids, Kill Bill (it is what it is), Django Unchained and Hateful Eight were all good movies. Bastards was great.
Okay guys, I exaggerate when I am doing emergency household plumbing in between posts, but yes, I liked Bastids quite a bit. Carry on. Optimistic on this one.
I really enjoyed the first 2/3rds of The Hateful Eight, but the last act IMO didn't fit with the rest of the movie. The hyper violence seemed silly and forced -- 2 hours of compelling atmosphere and tension ruined with slap stick levels of violence.
lulz...I forgot about that. Yeah, the B-Movie slap stick violence that he was going for in Kill Bill (and worked, imo) -- you could say -- leaked into H8 where it didn't belong.
i enjoy watching qt films with buddies that speak little english and then having to explain to them the dialogue and western pop culture every 5 minutes
I bet being in Hollywood a youngish actor in the 1960’s was a whole lot of fun. Drugs, women, cultural changes, peak prosperity and treated like a god with little repercussions and just enough danger. Too bad they don’t have a younger Dennis Hopper in this one.
LOL, listening to this podcast, Roman Polanski once thought Bruce Lee murdered Sharon Tate. https://player.pippa.io/shootthisnow/episodes/5c89376596b192381b90d5e7
Even though I hate Tarantino and think all his movies are terribly self-indulgent and sophomoric, I also recognize he's got some skill writing and making movies so I usually end up eventually seeing them. So, I will probably eventually see this and eventually conclude it was self-indulgent and sophomoric.
