I can't tell if you're this intentionally dense or if it's just who you are. He was only on a list because he publicly stated he was considering a run. That doesn't make him a credible candidate. The Democratic party has not welcomed him with anything. Many have said he's nothing but a nuisance. Most are pretty pissed about his actions in the Kavanaugh confirmation.

Again, it's just him you that thinks this because he is not a friend to the DNC and he is not a credible candidate.

Actually Avennetti was signaling pretty hard that he was going with the Trump strategy of essentially running as a Democrat against all the “establishment” Democrats. Divide everyone in the party and conquer. Which is what nobody wanted anything to do with.

There was widespread belief that he had no business on stage with the other qualified candidates in the game for the right reasons but if you tried to exclude him, it would give him the narrative he needed.

So needless to say, a lot of people will be glad he’s likely out of the picture (unless it’s proven he was wrongfully setup). But I do think there is a lot to learn from what Avennatti brought to the table (and might still bring to the table) as a Trump litigator. But I think that role is best served by someone from a Republican background or nonpartisan affiliation.

How the Democrats deal with Trump in 2020 is still an open question, and while Avennatti is not and has never been the answer, I think there are some things here and there the Dems who do have to deal with him in running against him should learn from.

Typical, I bet you’re ok with the Dems shenanigans trying to steal elections as well until it doesn’t work then you’re against it after the fact. If Avenatti succeeded in taking down Kavanaugh you and the majority of the left would be praising him and he would lead the pack as the candidate to beat. Don’t pretend you didn’t see the media falling all over that dude. Now he is on the scrap pile and the fake news is downplaying and non apologetic. Ethics, Get some!

Excuse me for interjecting, but I'm waiting for someone to show me Democrats are trying to steal elections. You make the claim but haven't shown squat about it. We do know that in Georgia there were problems but that was from the Republicans.

Good luck with the waiting. These guys don't believe or therefore rely on what they derisively call "facts".

First we find out he’s a woman beater — now this.

Next thing you know he’ll be identifying as a non-binary transitioned woman something or another.

Stormy Daniels says Michael Avenatti sued Trump for defamation against her wishes

p*rn star Stormy Daniels on Wednesday accused her lawyer, Michael Avenatti, of filing a defamation lawsuit against President Donald Trump against her wishes, an allegation Avenatti said he was "very" surprised by.

No surprise, they lost the defamation suit.

But by all means let’s bump the thread about potentially illegal payments made by the President to a p*rn star as part of a non disclosure agreement to keep her quiet during the 2016 election about an alleged affair that took place while his third wife was pregnant with his fifth child.

Oh and also Michael Cohen plead guilty to lying to Congress.

Trump had a woman beater under his direct supervision and had to be made to fire him.

And he still said he was great man.

How about you keep that same energy when it comes to trump.

I was critical of Trump. Again, do the research before you embarrass yourself, son.

Not that this non-story is worth commenting on but Avennatti kind of has a point. If Stormy has to pay 300k but Trump has to Stormy 1.5 mil, how is it anyone can claim that as a win for Trump?

Even if there was no money in it for anyone, who was the scandal better or worse for? Was it good for Trump that the payments ultimately led to Cohens office getting raided?

Wow, way to go digging, you bumped a thread that was buried for ten days!

Michael Cohen illegally paid pornstars and mistresses under the direction of Donald Trump in the name of a shell corporation involving shady non disclosure agreements.

But tell us more about a failed defamation suit, please!

Avenatti did his client a disservice by pursuing the defamation suit (either with or without her permission). Paying the counterparty's legal fees strikes me as a pretty strong rebuke to even trying. But, it's just another data point to support something we already know -- that Avenatti is about as loathsome as Trump is. It made for some interesting theatre when they were going at each other, but he's not some kind of hero to the anti-Trump cause. I still have a lot of respect for Stormy for having the courage to get into this fight, even if she did overstep with this ill-fated defamation suit. As for Trump, the charge that he defamed Stormy when he called her a liar may have failed in court, but he has not done anything at all noble here in trying to cover up that he had sex with her, denying it when confronted, explicitly lying about it, having others lie on his behalf, calling Daniels a liar when she was telling the truth, attempting to bully her with legal action, and possibly even having someone make physical threats against her as she says (I know who I consider more credible in a he-said-she-said). He might be $300k richer, but he's still a complete *******. If you think I was avoiding bad news in not digging up this thread, you'd be mistaken. This story looks as bad for Trump as it ever did.

He always seemed like a scumbag, even when he was winning for Stormy Daniels. Won't miss him.
