Why isn't this the single most outrageous event in American history?

Of the many stunning consequences of the horror of last week - the fact that this just happened - I mean if this were the 1980's, we'd be scrambling bomber crews and hiding under our desks - WTF is going on?

This is the director of the National Security Agency:

“There shouldn’t be any doubt in anybody’s minds, this was not something that was done casually, this was not something that was done by chance, this was not a target that was selected purely arbitrarily. This was a conscious effort by a nation-state to attempt to achieve a specific effect,” he said.

Is this really the new accepted paradigm?

You can get foreign governments to commit espionage to help your team win in domestic politics?

This might be the worst thing to ever happen in American politics - ever.

It would help to see Trump's tax returns, to know about his financial dealings. . . . Evidently everything is so desperate, America is getting very reckless. We just don't care about long-held "American" beliefs and practices.

You don't even need to see it for this - like I said, this is the kind of thing in the 1980's that would have had DefCon level raised.

But for the Republicans now, it's just "meh" - what the **** is going on?

The ONLY reason you care about this is due to who potentially benefited. Had Hillary potentially benefited from things leaked on the internet then you'd have no problem with it whatsoever.....so it's kind of hard to take you seriously when you pretend to be outraged here.

What is this even supposed to mean?

What the **** is wrong with you two?

A foreign government just installed a pliant leader in the White House.

You are not even the least bit upset?

What the **** is wrong with you two?

The NSA dislikes wikileaks. I'm shocked. If Clinton, Podesta and the DNC took computer security even slightly seriously they wouldn't have any of these problems. How big of a r****d do you have to be to click on a link in your gmail account? Clinton had access to the best computer security experts on the planet and went with an amateur setup. Major argued it was safer (it isn't). The real outrage is morons who were negligent. Hopefully they learned their lesson and their public position is to put all the blame on Russia while their private position is something completely different

There wasn't a good option and even if I accepted your ridiculous notion that Russia "installed" Trump as the president, which I don't, the manner in which it was done was by exposing just how awful the person who ran against him was. If you can destroy someone's campaign by leaking out things they are saying behind the scenes and exposing criminal activity that they have committed.....that person really shouldn't win anyway.

In the end the choice was still that of the American people and they made their choice. Again though, you wouldn't care in the slightest if Russians had managed to get their hands on Trump's taxes and if leaking them showed something that crushed his campaign, so you pretending to be outraged now is kind of funny.

Let me break it down for you then...
Easier to blame Russia than to take accountability for your actions...So the lady in the car...is more likely to blame the Russians for hacking her speedometer than acknowledging that she was speeding...

No, I am hopeful for the investigation into these negligent security breaches that certainly made our country less safe. Now that is has directly affected their own corrupt ambitions instead of just national security they might actually GAF.

It's easy to blame Russia for hacking to interfere with the election because they were hacking to interfere with the election.

So much deflection. Lets see how many times Clinton is mentioned in this thread and not the actual issue at hand. At least there are some in our government who understand that if you don't stand for something then you'll fall for anything.

If only we had more people willing to put country ahead of party.

Trump said he grabs women by the p***y yet 52% of republican women voted for him. I really don't think it mattered about those emails.

This doesn't make any sense and is still pretty much "just gonna take it" in terms of official response - who ****ing cares what John Podesta's email password is tomorrow, as he's a private citizen.

It matter in that they hate Clinton more. Trump probably got vote from many folks that have a very negative view of him. But they can't vote for Clinton because she's very close to the devil.

His credibility is sitting on empty so might as well go all in. All the posters who defended the amateur server are here with faux outrage now that it burned them.
