Congrats! Grab sleep whenever you can. Don't be afraid to ask for help from the Grandparents if they are willing to hold the baby for a couple of hours so you can both get some ZZZs. When we had our kid, I figured the my number 1 job was to make Mom happy as her number 1 job was to make baby happy. It seemed to have worked. Took the baby so she could sleep, shower, eat, etc. Took on all the housework. Anything I could do so my wife could feed the baby, hold the baby, sleep, etc. Also, you're allowed to tell people to leave y'all alone for a while.
That will go on for awhile. Then they'll start sleeping through the night, but waking up early in the morning ready to go. You'll get a random saturday where he might sleep until like 8, and you'll celebrate on facebook about it.
Those days are a blur. I remember one time when it was in the middle of the night and I was helping with a feeding session. I'm laying on the bed nuzzling and gently patting the sweet little one. Mrs. Donkey walks in and asks what i'm doing. I come to and realize i've been nuzzling a towel.
Did I ever tell you about the time DonkeyMagic forced me to wear a woman’s bikini around the office? Donkey tears off my clothes and makes me wear this skimpy bikini. For the next three months I had to conduct my business wearing a woman’s bathing suit. I would cry from shame and question my manhood daily. But at the end of the quarter, I’ll be damned if my sales hadn’t tripled!
You and baby momma need to take turns sleeping if you’re not. It should even out soon. Glad baby is well!
