Yes. I felt we should've capitalized in his value 3 seasons ago. I still think we should have done that.

But it's reached a point where we have to now......We cannot afford to sit in his deal and it bringing a neutral to negative trade value.

Why does Daryl Morey insist on chasing these hit or miss, hot & cold 3pt shooters? How about you actually target some sharpshooters? Given moreyball relies so heavily on 3pters

I have been watching many Lakers games this season. I am not a real big bum. The real Big Bum is KCP.
Let me make it clear. His real name is Bum KCP.
    Bum Kentavious Caldwell-Pope.

KCP would improve this team on both sides of the ball. I wanted him this off-season.

but in all fairness i haven't watched him play a single game this year.

2019 Unprotected First Round Pick is worth more than two times of Rookie contract of Pascal Siakam or Jaylen Brown because it has 4-year low costs. You are trading it for Bum KCP. Are you kidding me?

2019 unprotected first round pick = Very good Rookie contract

Who wants one-year overpaid 12 million contract?

Suns asking price is too high. The value of KCP is too low. One of the GMs asked Lakers to include Kyle Kuzma or Josh Hart in the 3-team package for Ariza.
Lakers say "hell no". It is KCP for Ariza, then 3rd team does the rest.
Without Kuzma or Hart, Suns turned down a 3-team proposal.

Good point, the Rockets did go after Redick when Paul was acquired, but the Philly one year offer was way too good. Ryan Anderson is technically supposed to be a sharpshooter, but he had other basketball related issues.

Teams aren't generally looking to trade their elite shooters though, and then if you want shooters who can also defend, that's even harder to try and get teams to fork over. You gotta take what you can get. Rockets can still push for guys like Ellington or Justin Holiday, Terrence Ross as I've mentioned before.

Repeat from many postings of mine:
I’m not a fan of “SmallBall” using PG’s/SG’s predominantly. I didn’t like the idea of CP3/Gordon/Harden lineups mentioned this offseason and I’m still not a fan of it. D’Antoni used similar gimmick with the
Suns which might produce in the regular season but tends to get abused in the playoffs. Freedom of
Movement rule imo leaves them vulnerable defensively.

“Small-Ball” using multitudes of SF types is the best model to imitate. Warriors, Bucks, Celtics, Etc use
length and mobility combnation as an interchangeable weapon vs taller and smaller Center-PG’s. A happy
median between the to ends of the spectrum. Adelman was also a big fan of multitude of PG-SG’s in his Princeton
Offense type system. I can’t remember him being successful in the playoffs either.

Not an unlikely situation though, so he wasn't wrong. Yea, I remember him saying that due to Gordon already being on the roster, and he was correct that it would be a very possible outcome. The man wanted somewhere to park himself and family for a couple of years at least.
