Stephen A. Smith on SportsCenter just reported he talked to a couple players and they deny this ever happened.

Mike D’Antoni is a clown. This is a surprise to absolutely no one using common sense.

He has no offensive coaching skills.

Don’t really care for this “argument”. You can argue if that’s what you want to do. Bg is no where near a hall of famer to me. All I see from you was stats. Which means very little to me when you don’t have context with it

A step back free throw would be more elegant.

Paul has grown to hate the dribble isolation because he can't do it anymore.

And besides, Paul can't talk. He literally did nothing in the whole playoffs till game 6 against the Warriors.

o_O Not sure about the point. Since when is not losing to an inferior team is a measure of anything?
One can also argue that the Clippers team we beat in 7 games were an inferior team, but that was pretty even too. And in reality, Harden didn't beat that team. We were on the brink of losing, only to be saved by the heroic of guys like Smoove and Brewer with Harden sitting on the bench.

This supposed arguing about offense... Houston's offensive rating was really strong against Golden State.

They weren't eliminated because of their offense, though yes it would be improved especially with turnovers and bad possessions.

Rockets lost because they couldn't box out all series and too many blown assignments. Oh, and Kerr brutally outcoached D'Antoni.

Spurs in 2016 without kawhi. Harden was so bad people think he had a concussion.

That was the year before we got CP3.

I mean, whether this argument actually took place or not, it's not like it's earth-shattering news. Watch any Rockets game. They have two different offenses. Ostensibly, it all falls under threes/dunks/FTs, but the execution depends on who brings the ball up.

At their most polar states, Harden is going to iso to nothing on the clock, then do something himself, and Paul is going to dribble around and try to find open men, also probably leaving little time on the clock. In neither case is the offense anything close to active and energetic. In neither case are the words "fast break" in the vocabulary. Harden can be too clingy with the ball, and Paul can be too distributive. In both cases, their teammates often fail to earn the trust necessary to put the ball in their hands. Harden will keep it, and Paul will give it to them anyway.

Honestly, I kind of wonder why Harden and Paul are ever on the court the same time. One has to defer to the other when they are. It's almost like they need their own teams within the Rockets. Give <insert lob-worthy center> to James' team, and give Eric Gordon to Paul. Players that can and will make it easier for James to score should be on Team James, and players that can shoot and/or move into good passing positions should be on Team Chris.

I kind of assumed that the initial signing of truest, purest point guard Chris Paul was supposed to add layers and options to the offense. That way the other players would have more ways to score, and the burden of Harden to do it all himself would be reduced. It seems to have gone in the opposite direction where you camp everyone on the arc except your undersized center, and then one of your two point guards does...something?

With both of those guys being locked into the team for years to come, the team needs a coach that actually can figure out how to make this work. It doesn't have that, and from the looks of it, probably won't until they're both already gone.

Stats are probably the most important thing when picking a hall of fame member but they mean very little to you.

    That makes total sense.

So tell me what is more important than stats?

why are Iverson anf Pete Maravich in the hall of fame?

Cousins would of had a chance if he did not get hurt and was not an *******, why is you entire argument centered on Cousins when there are plenty of guys in the hall of fame that never won anything.

oh iverson's never won anything. i recall deep playoff runs along with other significant accolades. griffin has never even been the best player on his teams that he had the best numbers with

cousins is nothing more than an example. i couldn't careless about some argument you insist on having because you apparently have some high praise for such a non worthy player

Last time I checked, Harden's style of play" was the only thing that allowed a team to come close to beating the Warriors.
