Yes, Kareem was active in the Civil Rights movement which put a target on him since he played during the Jim Crow Era.

As years have passed, he has been looked at in a different light and come to be accepted and even honored for what he did. But this was certainly not the case at the time.

Those civil rights leaders at that time were viewed how Kaepernick is today by many people, which is why it is mind boggling when people who are so vociferously against someone like Kaepernick or Marshawn Lynch will celebrate Ali, Kareem, and Jim Brown as if they would have supported them at the time rather than a watered down image of their legacy that has been largely co-opted and glamorized.

Utah Jazz radio broadcast Called him Top 5 All-Time offensively.

I might agree if only speaking regular season.

Pretty amazing. Harden might not be halfway into his career yet.

Imo, if he wins a ship or multiple (lawd pleaze) and gets an mvp or more (deserves it) I think he will go down and be regarded as the 3rd best SG ever behind Jordan and Kobe.

I would argue high and mighty with all the stats and efficiency I could muster to prove the 2nd best ever but he just can’t beat the rings argument.

Right now. This season I believe he is he beat player on the planet. Pretty much the only argument for not is Lebron and I can’t easily understand that and would concede 1a and 1b.

    He’s fuuucking phenomenal...

Kareem is top-3 in my book. Can't deny talent when it's there.

At least Kareem got the respect afterwards. I don't think Kaepernick is on any HOF level to begin with.

I think Kaepernick is a different narrative. I fail to see how Kaepernick is boyh great AND standing up for any meaningful dialogue. Thanks for educating me about Kareem though.

Thinking about all time rankings for every position..

Considering Kobe and Jordan are probably 1......Lebron.....3 right now.

I think James Harden's goal should be to try and find a way in to the top 10 discussion.

If he could just find a way to start annihilating GSW in the playoffs then he could potentially pull it off.

I don't think Steph Curry deserves to be ahead of Harden in any all time ranking by the way. Harden is just a better basketball player in many facets.

He should strongly considering retiring from the NBA at age 27.

Kobe is top 5, maybe. He is not in my top 3. Was the 2nd fiddle in first 3 championships, think Pippen. Needed Pau, then Artest to win last 2. Was always inefficient and selfish. Great talent but not top 3 all time IMO.

    Jordan
    Kareem
    Lebron
    Russell
    Duncan

Which guy do you replace with Kobe?
